Chapter 17 Dylan

It was 8am. I just finished showering and eating to get ready to return to the base with Amanda, my future daughter, Chris, and Leona. The same base where I did my solo mission to rescue Amanda. When I returned to my room to get my jacket, I ran into Debra, who was up early. She gave me my katana, which had Roku and Yorisue back in it again. "Hello, friend," Roku said. "Hello," I said back. "You're up very early; something wrong?" I asked Debra. "No, but just thinking about it. Samantha said she was from World One, right? That's impossible. I never made her in world one." Debra stated. "Are you sure?" I asked her. "Yes, it was just the regular group without Leona. So, I need to figure out what world she actually came from. And she called you her mother, but there's another version of Leona that is your daughter...so where the hell did this person come from?" Debra said, confused." I'll think about this more when I wake up. Too early for this shit." Debra said, sleepy. "But it's 8am," I said. Debra turns around and looks at me, annoyed. "Too early," Debra said before returning to her room and closing the door.

I entered my room, grabbed my jean jacket, and went outside for fresh air. Chris, Samantha, Amanda, and Leona were outside waiting for me, also enjoying the cool air. "Feels good to have cool air, much cooler than down there, even though it's still cold down there," Chris stated. "Well, look how high we were in the damn clouds," Amanda said, giggling. "Alright, let's hurry up and get down there and find something before someone sees us," Amanda said as we flew back to the base where my solo mission occurred. Once we got down, we all searched the area and entered the rubble. We kept searching and searching for two hours of us doing this, and we found five tapes and two pictures that were messed up. I turned around to notice Leona looking in the open, following along with something. "You good?" I asked her. "I'm seeing someone walking around with someone else; it's a man carrying a woman's body into a building. He seems to be crying. That's it, though," Leona said. "I hear and sense something approaching," Amanda said as we heard vehicles coming here. We all quickly flew back up and back home before getting seen.

We all settled back home and waited until Amanda was done trying to restore everything. Me and my sisters with Leona and Samantha just played cards and ate snacks until we saw Amanda coming down the stairs but looking very sad. "What's wrong, Amanda?" Eva asked. Amanda places down two pictures of a young man and woman wearing a lab coat with glasses, very long hair, and white skin with brown eyes. The 2nd picture is them kissing. "Hey, this person looks like the person I saw back at....oh," Leona and all of us realized that it was Amanda and came to find out she was indeed fully human back in the past and her creator was her husband. Amanda put down a radio and let it play as we all heard the five tapes.

To break it all down. Amanda and the man who made her Dylan were scientists, but Dylan knew how to make androids, so they made one to help them with their science projects. The next tape talked about how they were met by a female who would give them a deal. Build her a friend, or Dylan loses his wife. Dylan didn't know if someone was pulling his leg, so he ignored her. Dylan's focus was to prepare for his anniversary with Amanda, which was coming up in a week. The 3rd tape was...very hard to listen to. Dylan was crying as Leona put a curse on her, which shut down Amanda's body completely. Leona gave him a choice: either build the androids or let his wife not survive at all. But the catch was that she wanted a android out of his wife. So he would pretty much no longer have his wife either way. In the 4th tape, Dylan says that he built the android, but he built two. One was fake for Leona, and the other had Amanda's soul inside so Leona wouldn't get her. He says he even marked her with a tag inside her programming. The tag is that she may never remember him, but he will always love her and always miss her, even when he's died. You could hear Dylan carrying Amanda to a room and installing her with a core.

Dylan said that there were cores in the base to help her escape. The tape ends, and in the 5th tape, we hear people screaming in the background and dying. Dylan can be heard in pain, trying to get up, but Leona is holding him down. Leona stated that she would not follow through with her plans before leaving with the fake android and letting the darkness consume everyone and the entire base. The tape skips, but we hear Dylan and a strange noise from the background. We did hear Dylan trying to figure out a solution, but he kept being stopped as loud banging happened on a door. Dylan's last words were, "I hope she remembers me one day, and I hope she recovers this orb," before a gunshot is heard, and the tape ends. Dylan killed himself so that his soul would be trapped in the orb and not taken by darkness.

After we listened to the tapes, Amanda showed us the orb, saying she could feel him inside the orb. "He's happy; he's thrilled I found him," Amanda said before breaking down crying. Leona started crying, saying that it was her fault, but we all told her that it wasn't, seeing as it really wasn't her in charge of herself when all this happened. Jacqueline got up, picked up the orb, and told Amanda that she would help her make an android body so that she and Dyaln could be together again. Amanda's face lit up with happiness as she hugged Jacqueline. Cubie even stated that he wanted to help as well and Amanda agreed to his help as well. The two of them headed upstairs to begin working on it while I and the others just sat and relaxed, hoping Amanda could reunite with her husband again.
