Chapter 40 Ice

It was the 30th now. Almost time for the new year and for me to get older. I woke up thinking it would be time for something else major to happen...but nothing. I walked to the kitchen and saw no one. I tried to cook some waffles and luckily didn't burn down the base. The smell of the waffles must have woken the other three up, cause they came downstairs once I had set everything down. "Good morning," Eva said, yawning. "Have you heard anything today?" Chloe asked. "No. Cubie, any mission?" I asked him. "No, I haven't fully heard anything. I know the police are targeting a warehouse today, so maybe that will need our help later." Cubie told us.

"Puppy is all fed and is growing a little bit," Jacqueline said, petting the puppy and letting it eat. "Healthy boy. We should get him someone else. He's just here alone." Chloe said, feeling bad about the puppy. "We could give him to someone while we do stuff," I said. "True, we could, but I still think another puppy would do better," Chloe said. "Chris, everyone, come get breakfast," I said over the coms. Everyone showed up except Samantha and Leona. "Samantha, Leona, you two coming?" I asked. "Ummm, not today, no. We got caught up with helping Ophelia with something," Leona said, but the way she was trying to tell us seemed off. "Weird, but if Ophelia needed help, then we can't do anything. As long as they eat," Tyler said. "Well, if they aren't going to eat, then I'll gladly take waffles," Soma said, walking in with Kato. "Sure enough for everyone," I gave them the waffles, and we all ate and talked.

"Welp, I was correct, looks like help is needed," Cubie said as Marques gets on the screen. "Hey, I need your help again. The usually just take out some assholes" Marques told us. "I'll go this time," I said. "I'll go to" Eva said. Chris and Tyler also got up to join. "Eh fuck it, I'll do something to" Kato said. "Are you sure?" Chris asked. Kato snaps his finger, which catches his finger on fire. "I am sure," Kato said, putting it out and laughing. We all headed out to the warehouse and set up an attack. "I need you all to go from the roof and back," Marques told us. "Why that?" Kato asked. "It's best to. Do this quietly. If things get loud, just start blasting," Marques told us.

We all made it to the warehouse out of sight and met up with Marques. "I scout out everything; you all just take them out. And be careful that bullets will hurt you all very badly," Marques said, setting up. "I know you didn't ask for it, but I might as well join to" Lila said, landing down with an anime-designed camo suppressed sniper in her hand. "Lila, you aren't needed here," Marques tells her, but Lila shoves him a little and sets next to him. We all snuck into the warehouse and split up to take out everyone. "Something is not right about these guns. Such a strange energy from them," Chris said, taking out someone with a choke hold. We continued to take out more and more people. Since Lila had a sniper, anyone who was watching from the top was easily dealt with. "That's all of them," Lila told us. "Thank you all. We will send someone to help bring out those weapons crates," The police commissioner told us as we saw police come in. "Well, here are all the weapons, but what is that energy?" The police commissioner asked. "We don't know. Gordon, like always, we will have to take these. If there's anything you know, please let us know, or if you know more," Marques said. Amanda drones showed up again and took the weapons crates. "I'll be bringing this to your guys' base. Jacqueline wants to check them out," Amanda said from one of the drones before leaving. "Oh, I forgot to say, go back to base, I got you all a shard, a new outfit from the dragon you all fought," Amanda told us over the coms. "Glad today was much easier. Thank you for helping us, Lila." Chris said. "You're welcome. Oh, I want to set something up at your place. I'll meet you there and show you," Lila said, flying away. "Well, I'm going to hang out with Eduardo and Ophelia. Apparently, Ophelia said training Eduardo today, as well as Eva's bandmates and Moriya, Sama, and Yuuma. See you all," Marques said, flying away. 'Hey Eva, can you come with me to find Samantha and Leona?" I asked her. "Sure, why?" Eva asked. "I want to make sure they are safe," I told her. "Hun, they are probably relaxing somewhere. Let's not bug them," Chris told me. I sighed and nodded. "Okay, let's go back to base then," I said, still worried. "While you all are flying back, I'm going to go see how Dad is doing. It's been a few. See you all," Kato waved at us, flying in a different direction.
