We finally board the plane. We have four seats together. Not wanting to sit next to Katie, I sit in the corner-most seat with two seats in the middle. Eli sits next to me. Why the fuck is Katie sitting next to Lucas? I look at Luca, who in turn is glaring at Eli because he sat next to me.

"What?" I ask, glaring at him since he's been poking me since forever.

"I'm bored."

"So, what am I supposed to do then, dance?"

"Ooh, I would love that, but can you just switch with me for now? Plus, he's glaring at me for no reason." He says looking at Luca.

"Will you stop disturbing me if I do?"

"Oh, I so hate her," Eli says, gasping like a child.

"Eli, your ten minutes start now. Shut up, both of you."

The air hostess leans down with a polite smile, her pen poised over the notepad. "What would you like to eat, ma'am? We have pancakes with syrup or an omelet with toast."

I shake my head, offering a quick, tight smile. "Nothing for me, thank you."

Her brow furrows slightly. "Are you sure? It's no trouble at all."

"I'm sure," I reply, my voice firmer this time.

"I'm not really hungry."

She hesitates for a moment, then nods.

"Alright, just let me know if you change your mind." She straightens and moves on, her cheerful demeanor undeterred.

"You sho-"
