The ride felt a lot longer than it probably actually was. With my gun in my pocket, another one on a belt and a knife right by it, I should be more prepared. I made a mistake thinking I would just be fine last time. I can't fuck up the way I did. This isn't just my life anymore. This is others. Plus, I’m supposed to be keeping a promise. Even though I’m not sure I’ll be able to, it's a good idea to try.

It was weird. Seeing Aris with a weapon. Even though it was just a bat that would be used to hurt people, seeing someone go from passive and soft to determined and staring straight ahead with a harsh expression, is kind of like whiplash.

“Everyone knows their Maze to go to, right?”I checked, looking between the leaders.

“Like the back of our hands,”Harriet assured me.

“And which entrances to go in and go to get down? You've studied them?”

“Yeah. I’m gonna remember it for months at this point,”Sonya answered.

“You all get started then. We’ll to go our place.”

“Alright. Good luck, guys,”Minho told us before looking at his group of six. When they nodded, he went around to the back. Everyone else scattered, getting to their own.

“The quickest way for this is the window to Janson’s office. I don't think they could fix it up super well in three days,”I explained, looking over at him.

“Then, that's the way we're going,”He nodded.

“Are ya’ sure ya’ don't wanna back out? Ya’ could easily catch up with one of the groups,”I pointed out.

“I’m coming with you. We’re gonna do this together,”He said firmly.

“Alright. Then, let's get goin’.”

Nodding his head, he walked beside me, the bat gripped firmly in his hands.

“Are ya’ sure you don't want somethin’ else?”I offered again.

“Yep.”

Just nodding my head, I led him around the corner of the building. Covered by the darkness of the night, we made our way to the already boarded and nailed up window.

They seriously haven't learned their lesson on how breakable those are?

“I got this part,”He announced. Letting him have it, I stood back as he swung his weapon as hard as he was capable of near the bottom of the window, almost instantly turning the spot he hit into a splinter hazard.

With that same intentful expression he wore the entire time already, he smashed the space right above it, creating a hole just big enough for us to fit through.

“I love destroying their property.”

“That's a pretty interestin’ hobby.”

“And a just one.”

“That's for sure.”

Ending the conversation there, I hoisted myself up, my hands gripping the now exposed windowsill. Forcing my body over the small space, I made sure my arms were as close to my body as possible before just letting myself fall, landing on my knees.

As he replicated my actions down to the way I fell, I grabbed his arm before he actually could, forcing him upright. He stumbled for a moment before holding the windowsill with his free hand, catching himself.

“You’re like strong strong.”

“After all I’ve done, I better be,”I promised, walking around the desk and to the door. Unlocking the same measly lock that a child would understand, I grabbed the cold doorknob. As if there wasn't the possibility of instantly running into someone, I swung it open.
