Aris’s P.O.V
“Y/N doesn't like me, does she?”
I wasn't exactly sure how to answer. I mean Y/N’s feelings for Abby aren't really positive. Not if they're the same as last time we talked about this.
I hesitated which turned into an accidental answer as her eyes dropped to the ground, a strand of her blonde hair falling in front of her face.
“Y/N and people are complicated,”I trailed off. It's definitely not a lie. From taking people's lives to, to being made fun of, to running the second someone is nice to her, she will not be a social butterfly anytime soon.
“Her complicated with me seems so different from everyone else. You're close with her. Obviously. Did I do something to upset her?”
“Her and people just aren't good at first. She takes time for everyone. I guess some people just take longer than others. She's closer to Mary, who’s older than all of us, than basically anyone else so that has to say something,”I pointed out.
“Well, how’d you get her to like you?”
“I was just there I guess. We were always together so basically forced proximity.”
“Promising,”She deadpanned.
“Maybe. Look, you would probably be better off talking to her about this. I don't want to talk about her when she's not around. Things get misheard and someone drama hungry overhears, and then it'll be a thing. And I’d rather it didn't become a thing.”
“True. Dama hungry people are the worst. They ruin everything. Not the people that just want to know more when you talk about something. The ones that are looking for things that aren't there just to stir the pot,”She agreed.
“Exactly. Thomas is the biggest drama fan here. He wants the accurate details though so it’s not a problem.”
“I’ve noticed that. Fry seems sort of like that too but really subtle about it. It's like he’s really watching from the sidelines.”
“Sometimes the sidelines are the best place to watch,”I shrugged.
“You know about the sidelines?”
“Quite a bit.”
“It sure didn't seem that way last night. Everyone's wondering what that’s about,”She informed me, looking at my bandaged hand, then me.
“This guy was just being stupid again,”I kind of answered.
“I don't think people usually resort to violence for idiocy.”
“He was being mean.”
“I take it not anymore?”She grinned.
“I hope not. My hand did not appreciate that.”
“At least it’s not broken,”She pointed out.
“Yeah. That would suck. Even more than it does now I mean.”
