A/N: Hi everyone! Sorry for the long wait school was a pain this semester. Now that it's summer I shall try to post more often. Anyways please enjoy the next chapter of 8 Days, 8 Letters.

Present Day: December 1899

Jaime's POV

Race, Crutchy, and I were sitting on the roof stargazing. It was a clear night for once. Maybe the sky was waiting for the new year too.

There was still 2 hours until midnight so we decided to pass the time sitting in the roof. It began with seemingly endless chatter, but as the sky became darker we stared at the beauty of our city in silence.

"Hey you can see the alley we met at," Race spoke, breaking the silence.

The three of us smiled as we stared at the alley. Recalling how we met.

"To think of it weren't for me, you's two wouldn't be here," I joked.

"Maybe when we first met, but it's really Race who wouldn't be here if it wadn't for us," Crutchy replied.

"Hey! I'm responsible!" Race exclaimed.

"Sure you are," I laughed.

Race hit me playfully in the shoulder while we all laughed.

As the laughter died down we silently remembered the times we had shared. We had been through thick and thin. Hard to believe how much we had grown from the kids we used to be.
"Can you's both promise me something," Crutchy said.

"Of course buddy," Race answered.

"Anything," I responded.

"Promise that no matter how far we go, we'll always remember that spot."

"How could we ever forget," I smiled.

Crutchy: I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

Race and I looked up at him, with bittersweet smiles.

Oh, simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

I leaned my head on Crutchy's shoulder and grabbed Race's hand.

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of

As I gave Race's handed a squeeze, the boys each wrapped an arm around my shoulder and pulled us down to the cold floor of the roof.

Oh, simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on

I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

Race and I glanced at Crutchy.

Race and Jaime: Somewhere only we know

Crutchy gave us a small smile as we all jumped back up to a sitting position.

Crutchy, Race, and Jaime: And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go

Race and Jaime: And if you have a minute why don't we go (Crutchy: Oooh! Ah-ah!)
Talk about it somewhere only we know (Ha! Ah, ah, ow!)

The three of us grabbed hands as we laid back down.

Race, Jaime, and Crutchy: This could be the end of everything

I gave both the boys' hands a squeeze as we enjoyed a comfortable silence

"I don't think I's could ever forget you's two," I muttered.

They both squeezed my hand until we were called down for start of the new year.

"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!" we cheered.

The boys cheered so loud they can probably hear us in New Jersey.

As we all celebrated, Race wrapped an arm around mine and Crutchy's shoulders.

"Ready for another year with me," he joked.

"Never," Crutchy and I laughed.

Race flicked us both on the ear, which only made us all laugh harder.

I looked in the direction of the alley where we all met.

I wouldn't have wanted our story to have been written any differently.
