Song: I Love You and Also Goodbye by Misc

A/N: Hi everyone. Please enjoy the next chapter of 8 Days, 8 Letters

Present Day: April 1900

Jaime's POV

"Mornin' Books," Bumlets said. "Rest okay?"

It had been a month since everything happened. While Spot was distracting me at Medda's, they had split up my work and the extra work I took on. I couldn't be more thankful.

"I's did. Good to see you's up and movin'."

"I've been sellin' for a week."

"Its still good Bumlets."

Bumlets, Tumblr, Specs, and Skittery finally returned to work after almost two weeks of recovery. Bumlets still had a limp but he could at least walk, and he was very adamant about selling since he could walk.

The boys filed in and we all got ready together. We headed out to the distribution center and waited for the gates to open.

"Hey James, wanna go to Medda's tonight?"

"Why?"

"Just answer."

"I guess?"

"6 O' clock! Don't forget!"

"I's won't."

I got my papes and started selling with Race and Crutchy.

While we were selling, Race told us about his failed attempt at impressing a girl he met at the tracks.

"Guys it's not funny!" Race shouted.

"Oh come on it's a little funny," Crutchy laughed.

"I disagree," I wheezed. "It's hysterical."

"I appreciate you's both find my near death experience 'hysterical.'"

"We're not the ones who accidentally walked a lost girl onto the track after braggin' about being called 'Doctor Sheepstead,'" Crutchy debated.

We both busted out laughing again while Race glared at us.

"How about we go to Sheepstead and talk you's up?" I suggested.

"Yeah. We'll be your wingmen," Crutchy added.

"Really?" Race perked.

We both nodded.

After selling we went to Sheepstead and met the girl Race was talking to.

She had brown hair and blue-green eyes. She was wearing a nice sunset orange dress.

"Hey Edeline," Race stuttered, rubbing his neck.

"Hello Racetrack," she smiled. Edeline whispered something to her friend. The two were smiling but in a good way? "Who are your friends?"

"This is Books," Race pointed at me and I smiled. "And this is Crutchy."

"Hello," Crutchy beamed. Him and Edeline's friend were grinning at each other and I'm pretty sure I saw blush on both their cheeks.

"Who's your friend?" Race asked.

"Oh this is my sister Delia."

Delia had the same blue-green eyes as Edeline but she had blonde hair and was wearing a light green dress. They're real pretty girls, I can understand why Race made a fool of himself. Hopefully I can keep Crutchy from doing the same.

The boys went to get drinks (as I instructed) so I could subtly talk them up.

"So what's the deal with you, Crutchy, and Race," Edeline asked.
