Songs: The Moon Song by Karen O
My Love Mine All Mine by Miski

A/N: Hi everyone. Sorry this chapter is kind of late, but I hope you enjoy the next chapter of 8 Days, 8 Letters.

Flashback Based on the Journal of Anika Sullivan: January 1892

Anika's POV

I know that I am going to die. There's no way I won't. I can feel myself get worse everyday.

I saw another women in the mirror. She was pale and old beyond her time. Her hair began to fall out. My husband told me there's not a women in the mirror and I'm probably seeing my reflection. But it can't be me. I can't be this pale. My hair isn't falling out. I don't look this old, I couldn't have. I'm not even 40 so how would I already look 80.

Everyday I feel my soul get sucked out of me. I don't know why this is happening but I know this isn't consumption like the doctor is saying.

Based on the journal of Anika Sullivan: January 1892

I can barely leave this bed. My kids come in asking what's wrong but I don't know. It kills me to see those broken eyes of Jack knowing he cant help me. I'm sure Jaime knows somethings wrong, she's always been observant like that. But neither of them know what's wrong. Hell I don't even know what's wrong.

All I can do is write.

I'm lying on the moon
My dear, I'll be there soon
It's a quiet and starry place
Times we're swallowed up
In space, we're here a million miles away

There's things I wish I knew
There's nothing I'd keep from you
It's a dark and shiny place
But with you my dear
I'm safe and we're a million miles away

We're lying on the moon
It's a perfect afternoon
Your shadow follows me all day
Making sure that I'm
Okay and we're a million miles away

Based of the Journal of Anika Sullivan: February 1892

To my beloved family. I love you in this life just as much as I'll love you in the next

Moon, a hole of light
Through the big top tent up high
Here before and after me
Shinin' down on me

Moon, tell me if I could
Send up my heart to you?
So when I die, which I must do
Could it shine down here with you?

'Cause my love is mine, all mine
My love mine, mine, mine
Nothing in the world belongs to me
But my love, mine, all mine, all mine

My [babies] here on Earth
Showed me what my heart was worth
So when it comes to be my turn
Could you shine it down here for [them]?

'Cause my love is mine, all mine
My love mine, mine, mine
Nothing in the world belongs to me
But my love, mine, all mine

Nothing in the world is mine for free
But my love, mine, all mine, all mine

Present Day: April 1900

Jaime's POV

We found a hundred entries but not many answers.

Jack and I decided to visit Denton after selling. We had seen him time to time since the strike- he likes to check in on us. But we haven't gone to his office since we pulled him back into the strike.

Jack and I sold together, which was kind of fun, although Davey ended up having to sell with Race and Crutchy.

He's definitely going to complain to us about Race, but that's nothing new.

We ended up at Denton's office staring at the sign that said "Bryan Denton: Feature Writer"

"You's sure you're up for this?" Jack asked.

"We have to get answers somehow. Let's do this."

We knocked on the door and Denton quickly answered it.

"Hello. What are you two doing here?" Denton greeted.

"We had some questions on an article you wrote about our dad 7 years ago," I said.

"I see. Come in." We walked in his office and he invited us to sit down.

"Would you like some tea?"

"Sure," I responded.

"Why not," Jack answered.

"So what exactly do you want to know?" Denton asked, setting down the tea pot.

"How exactly did you's find out about us?" I asked.

"Let's just say I had an inside witness."

"Who was that?"

"Ever heard of a Mr. Wiesel?"

"No way!" Jack and I shouted.

"Weasel?" Jack yelled.

"He only did a month because he was giving tips to the cops, which eventually led to the arrest of the gang."

"Well that worked out considering he went right back to jail for assault and exploitation." Jack bitterly laughed.

Denton filled us in on how my father got roped in. Apparently he had gambling debts and O'Malley stuck him a deal. All my dad had to do was work for him for a few months. But then a few months turned into a few years, and soon my dad had done so many "jobs" (robberies, nights, murders, etc) that he was too far in.

"How exactly did you's know to talk to Medda?" Jack asked.

"I's heard Medda was a friend of your father's and I's asked if it was true that he murdered his entire family. She said while she was pretty sure your mother was not his victim, he had been acting weird so she wouldn't put it completely past him. But she was very adamant that you both were alive. She only said that you both came to the door looking rough. She made me promise to keep both her's and your names out of everything."

We nodded.

"You know I may have my notes somewhere around here.

Denton looked around his office for his notes on the case. He keeps all of his notebooks just in case.

"I forgot about this," he commented, pulling out a stapled piece of paper.

"What's that?" Jack asked.

"My colleague wrote it on the Demons since I was too busy with the strike."

"You's mean our strike?" I questioned.

"The very same."

New York's Very Own Devils Have Escaped

John O'Malley and Elias Sullivan were convicted Seven years ago with assault and battery, robbery, murder, and many other small crimes. The two escaped last night and were last seen in Queens.

I skimmed the rest but it really just talked about how they escaped. They bribed a guard and snuck out in the dead of the night- nothing too out of the ordinary.

I noticed that a more recent mugshot of the two was above the article.

O'Malley looked around bit like Spot. Same blonde hair and nose, but a sinister smile instead of Spot's annoyingly cocky (but adorable) one.

My dad looked the same, although older. He still had brown hair like Jack's but it was more gray. He had my curious eyes (as Medda says).

I noticed a scar on the left side of his face and that's when I realized... Mr. Eriksson is our father.

"Tell your colleague I's know where he is."
