Chapter One:

Entry 1:

My name is Dusk Sinclaire. In many ways... I am a human being, while in others, I am a complete monster. For example, I go to school, I can eat regular food, I can walk in the sun, but I can't live without thinking about killing, blood, and the lives I've taken. How many screams have I heard? How many tears have I caused? I used to keep count when I was younger, before I got my humanity, before I came to my senses... before I actually cared about living beings. So... what am I? I am a Daywalker... a Halfling, half vampire and half werewolf. No one knew it was possible, but it is.... proof is my sisters and I. Now we live our immortal Daywalker lives.

I sat in my classroom not caring what the teacher said, or why calculus was so important. I wanted to get this day over with. My ice blue eyes searched the world outside the classroom. I looked up and saw it was almost time to go home. I couldn't be late getting home again, so right when the bell rang I grabbed my stuff and ran out of the classroom. I turned the corner quickly, and bumped into something. I caught myself and looked at what I bumped into. "Are you Dusk Sinclaire?" the being asked. She was a petite girl. I couldn't tell what type of magical/paranormal girl she was, but I knew she wasn't human. I nodded, "Yes, who's asking?" I asked. "My name's Celine Tour. I am the Vampire Princess," she said smiling at me. Her light brown hair swayed in the breeze, and my jet black hair did too. Her purple eyes were kind, and she didn't seem very harmful.

"Why did you need me, Princess?" I asked, trying to be polite. "Oh, you don't have to call me that. Just call me Celine. And, I came to invite you in person to the Paranormal Ball," she said. I nodded, "I received the letter a few days ago. I understand it's for the prince's return?" I asked. She nodded, "But it'll be hard to find him, no one's seen him since he was very young. Anyways, I hope you can make it tomorrow night. I'm sorry for disturbing you. Have a safe journey home," she said, and suddenly disappeared. That was very awkward and random... I shook my head and ran home, but I was still too late.

"Why're you late?!" my mother exclaimed as I got into the house. My mother is pale, with blonde hair and hazel eyes, the perfect vampire, I guess. "Calm down Melody, she probably had to do something," my father said, smiling. Yup, my dad's the wolf. He has tan skin, soft black hair, and blue eyes just like mine. "Damien, she has to get home on time, what if she were hurt or kidnapped?" my mom said with a worried look. "Mum, I'm in High School. I've got this, plus, Dad will know if something happens to any of his daughters. He has that wolf-y bond between parent and child," I said. My dad laughed, his handsome face not aged a day, nor my mother's. I kind of wish I had something the two of them have.

The door opened, and closed behind me, and I automatically knew who it was.
