Entry 35:
Even though I talk to him... I still feel so far away. He's so close, I could feel him near, but when I look, he's so far up ahead of me, I have to squint just to see him. There are times when he stops moving forward, an just waits for me. He would look back, giving me an encouraging smile, and motioning me to come forward. I would sprint to catch up, but as soon as I reach out to grab him, he runs off, like it's a game of tag. He's made this "relay" a game of tag in a mere second, and I have no say. I can't control what he does... but I feel like I should play this game with him... like he wants me to find something out in this little game... Still, I'm not sure...

My eyes flew open, and I turned to see Zavier staring out the window. He turned his head to look at me, and got up quickly. "Get dressed... I'll go tell the others that you're awake," he said, turning towards the door. I scrambled to get off of the bed, and managed to grab Zavier's wrist. He froze. I let out the breath that I was holding, and held on tight to his wrist. "... I...." I paused. He turned his head slightly to where I could see part of his facial features.
"If I did anything to make you upset, or if I hurt you... anything that I did... Please tell me!" I exclaimed. He slowly turned fully around, and grabbed my hand, taking it off of his wrist. I felt like I was going to cry, but held it in. He tugged at my hand to bring me closer to him. He hugged me, and my head started spinning. "...What...?" I mumbled.
"You didn't do anything... I was upset with myself..." he muttered quietly. "Why?" I asked. "I... wasn't able to say something I needed to," he answered simply. He let go of me, and sat on the bed. He's still upset with himself... Zavier let out a sigh. He stared up at me with thoughtful eyes. He clenched his jaw, and nodded to himself. "I'm going to ask you a very simple question," he said. "Alright..."I said, not getting where he was going with this.
"Sit down," he said. I sat down in the chair right in front of him. "Okay..." he began, "I'm not even sure how to ask..." I smiled at him, encouraging him to ask me the question he wanted to. He finally found his nerves, and stared me in the eyes. "I've really been wanting to ask, and I don't know what I'll do if something happens, that I don't want to happen, but... here it goes," he started, "Dusk... will you be-" he stopped. My brows furrowed in confusion. "What?" I asked.
He stood up suddenly, and went towards the window. He cursed under his breath, and turned to me. His eyes held a bit of sadness and pain. "It can wait... I promise I will ask you, no matter what..." he said, promising himself more than me. "What is it? What happened?" I asked as he led me down the stairs. "Bex is here.... but he's barely able to walk," Zavier said, rushing to get to Bex.
My eyes widened. We sprinted down the stairs, and out the door. Heap of dirty white fur lay in the center of the yard. I was too shocked to even feel anything. Bex shuttered as we got closer to him. He was breathing hard, and his eyes were barely open. There were long gashes on him, and a few black marking on his fur.
I pet his head softly, trying to get his attention. "I couldn't find you after the Shadow left me behind... I thought that he got to you too... I'm glad he didn't..." Bex said, his red eyes staring up at me. I bit my lip, holding back a sob. I heard Vince and the others trying to coax me into moving, but I didn't listen. I just wanted to stay there, not moving.
It was like time stilled. It became quiet to me. Everything became pitch black, except for a soft glow coming from me. "This all wouldn't have happened if you had just come with me, Sunshine," I heard the Shadow's bass-like voice say. I looked around, trying to find him, and he suddenly appeared in front of me. A dark mist-like smoke around him, and his shadowy figure towering over Bex's now visible body.
