Entry 8:

~

I looked up at Dusk. Her head was against her pillow. "...Is it too late...?," I heard her dad ask. I glanced at him, "What do you mean?" I asked. He didn't say anything except, "We've got to get her out of here, and now." He left to sign her out, and we carried her out of the hospital. I got in the backseat of his car, so I could watch over Dusk. "... I hope it's not too late..." he mumbled again.

"Dusk, listen, please wake up," I said, shaking her. I shook her again, and suddenly her hand was on my arm. "Stop shaking me! I'll get sick, bastard," she said coldly. I stared at her. She sat up properly, and scooted away from me. "I don't care if you're a pureblood Vampire. Don't get so close," she said. "Dusk... are you...?" I didn't get to finish.

She looked me in the eye. Her eyes were the same... just more... menacing, and her face was emotionless. "Dusk isn't here at the moment," she said. "What?" I asked. She rolled her eyes, "Of course you wouldn't know, because you're a pureblood, while I am just a mutt," she said. "Please explain," I said, wanting to know what the hell was going on. Her dad stayed quiet as he kept driving, only glancing up at me a few times in the review mirror.

"The side of her that you've seen, that's her real personality. I am basically the monster inside of her. Right now, I'm saving her life, because you two were too late," she said. I stared at her. I didn't know what to say or do. We pulled up into the driveway at her house, and got out of the car. For some reason... I felt like I had to accept both sides of Dusk, so I could understand her more.

We walked into their house, and her dad disappeared somewhere. I followed Dusk up the stairs, and to her room. She looked around, searching for something. After a while, she at down. She looked up at me, "They're gone," she said. "What? Who is?" I asked. "My pills are gone. I won't be able to return to normal, unless I have those damned pills," she said.

"Why don't you just drink blood?" I asked. She looked up at me, "I'm already vile enough. I don't need to add on to Dusk's burden that she has to carry by herself," she said. I sat down across from her, "What do we do?" I asked. "There's nothing we can particularly do. I'll be stuck like this for a while," she said. Why?! She CAN'T stay like this!!! We have missions and she can't be rude to the clients...

I heard a tiny voice come from the back of my mind, Are you sure that's the only reason you want her back to normal? I shook my head from the thought. "Listen..." I began. "Dawn..." she interrupted. "What?" I asked. "I'm called Dawn, because I'm like an alternate being," she said. "Oh.. ok... Dawn... listen. I need to get Dusk back so we could continue our jobs together," I said. She looked up, "I'm not doing this on purpose! If she were able to come back, she would, but she can't. Not unless we get the replacement blood, and right now, I don't know where those stupid pills are!!" she snapped.

When she didn't say anything after that, I looked up at her, "Why does not having the pills become a spilt personality problem?" Iasked. She glanced up at me and sighed, "It isn't a split personality, per say. I'm all the deepest, darkest feelings locked away inside with the vampire. Once Dusk reaches a certain point in life, I will combine with her. She'll be the same person, just she'd also have a side to her that'd be more mean and come out easily. I'm basically saying what she's thinking.

"I shouldn't even be saying, 'she.' I should be talking about 'us'," she said. "When is this certain point?" I asked. "It'll be soon. She.... err... We can feel it. But, if we don't change back, she won't be able to go through the 'Change,'" she muttered. I stood up, "Let's not waste anymore time. It should be around somewhere," I said calmly. She nodded, and stood too. I glaned to see if she were really following, and saw a few tears in her eyes.

"W-Why're you crying?" I asked. She shook her head, "I don't know... I think Dusk feels... happy..." she said, "Emotions are a funny thing... they can always show, no matter what. Even if you're trying to be emotionless, it shows you have emotion, by trying not to show it." I tugged her arm back and hugged her. I'm not sure why, but I did. I heard Dawn gasp a little. I let her go, and walked out.

I walked around outside, looking for anything. When I was going to head back in, I spotted a small silver container. I picked it up, and looked in it...they were pills. I wasted no more time, and ran bak into Dusk's house. I showed her what I found, "These are it! Thanks!" she said happily. She took a couple out of the container and looked up at me, "When I take these, I'm going to collapse again. It should only take a couple of seconds for me to wake back up," she said.

"Okay, what do I do then?" I asked. She shrugged, "You do what you want. Just remember, she remembers what I did, so...." she didn't finish. "So...????" I asked. "Nothing. It's fine. Ciao, Pureblood," she said grinning. She swallowed the pills before I could say anything more. I caught her just as she was going to drop to the floor. Dusk was still for a moment, and then she blinked her eyes open.

She stared up at me, and smiled, tears forming in her eyes, "Zavier... I'm back..." she mumbled.
