Entry 31:
I strongly wish to re-do part of my past, but I know that I can't. This will always haunt me. I will never forget it, even though I really want to. How could this even happen? You see these things in movies or read them in books, but when they happen to you... you can't get over it easily. It's frightening how one moment, you could just be doing things normally, and the with the slightest change, everything falls downhill. I strongly wish... I can just rewrite what happened... I strongly wish... that this never happened, so that we can go on living happily again...

I didn't leave the hospital that night. I stayed in Zavier's room, and watched him. I desperately wanted him to wake up, and tell me this was a joke he made up. A joke he took too far... but he never did. I had fallen asleep right next to him, holding his hand tightly. I had a nightmare about what happened at the school. When I woke up, Collin had just taken a seat beside me. "Oh, did I wake you? I'm sorry," he said, a faint smile on his face. His accent bringing me a calm-ish feeling. He looked extremely exhausted. "What happened?" I asked him. "What do you mean?" he asked me. "You... look more tired than I feel," I stated.
"Oh, that... I went to the shool last night. I was doing a little investigation of my own. I snuck into the second story of where the accident happened, and the only unusual thing that I saw... was a desk missing by the window," Collin said. ".. a desk?" I asked. He nodded, "I headed back down to the scene, and that's where the missing desk was. It had a bit of blood, which smelled like Zavier's, so I'm guessing it's what he got hit with," he said. We sat in silence for a couple of seconds, until the door opened and the doctor walked in. He was tall, had black hair and teal blue eyes.
"Are you two family members?" he asked. Collin and I both shook our heads 'No'. "Do you know if his family is coming?" the doctor asked us. "I contacted someone who represents his family, already. They said that they'll come a bit later," Collin answered. The doctor nodded, "Alright. His condition isn't bad. There aren't any major injuries. If he had been hit directly, then he wouldn't be able to wake up at all," he said. I held in a sob. "He's fine. We gave him some medication that should reduce the pain, but when he wakes up, his memories might be a bit hazy," the doctor said, giving Zavier a shot. Collin and I nodded. "He can be released by tomorrow. He just has to stay at rest for a while," the doctor said with a smile.
"Okay. Thanks, Doc," Collin said. The doctor nodded, and was called somewhere else. I felt Zavier's hand twitch, and my head turned back towards him. He moved his head slightly, and his brows furrowed. His eyes opened slowly. He blinked a couple of times before looking around. "He's awake?" I heard Carla's voice ask. "Really?" I heard Vince ask. They both went to the other side of him, and we all stared at him. He looked at all of us, not saying anything. "Someone get the doctor," Collin said. Carla nodded, and ran to get the same doctor. The doctor and Carla walked in. "Okay, I need you to answer a few questions," the doctor said, going to the side Vince was at.
Zavier nodded, slowly sitting up. "What's your name?" the doctor asked. "Zavier Slater," Zavier answered. "You age?" the doctor asked. "18," Zavier answered. "Species?" the doctor asked. "Wait..." I muttered. "It's okay. Dr. Graves is actually a Morpher," Collin whispered. "... Graves?" I asked, suddenly recalling the guy at the amusement park. What was his name...? I think it was Damon Graves.... My eyes widened, and I looked at the doctor. They look related, but this guy is obviously a bit older in order to be a Doctor. I shook my head. "Sorry, go ahead," I mumbled. Dr. Graves smiled, "Alright. Species?" he asked Zavier. "Nightwalker. I know who I am," Zavier said nonchalantly.
"Alright, then if you can remember things so clearly. State the name and species of everyone in the room, excluding me and yourself," Dr. Graves said. Zavier pointed at Vince, "The Clingy Nightwalker, Vince Lawcraft," Zavier said, then pointed to Carla, "The Freaky Night Faerie, Carla Evergreen." He looked at Collin, pointing at him, "The English Wolf, Collin Grayhold," he said. Zavier's eyes landed on me, "Halfling, Daywalker Dusk Sinclaire," he said. "Very good. Your condition might be better than I thought," Dr. Graves said, "I'll just change the bandage on your head, and then you can talk to your friends."
Dr. Graves changed the bandage quickly, and left the room for everyone to talk. "Do you remember what happened?" Collin asked. Zavier sighed, shaking his head little, "IT's not really clear. IT hrts to think about it. All I remember was thinking 'Please don't let Dusk get hurt,' but I have no idea how I got in here," he said. "You were hit by a falling desk," Vince said, a little bluntly. "I called them last night, telling them what I found," Collin said. "Wait... A desk was falling over, and I got hit?" Zavier asked. "That just sounds stupid! It didn't happen that way!" Carla said.
"A desk was thrown out the window of a second story room, and was targeted towards Dusk. You came just in time to save her life," Collin said. I bit my lip, "... it's my fault you ended up in here... You could've died if you were one step ahead," I said, a fat tear dropping on my cheek. Zavier sighed, brushing the tear away. He looked at the others, who were staring at us. "I'll just go... uh get food!" Vince said. "I'll go get water," Carla called. "I need fresh air," Collin said. The three of them left the room quickly. I silently cried still. Zavier sighed again, "Ahh. Geeze, what's with the water works?" he asked teasingly. "It's because I'm so stupid! I should've known that it was a trap! If I would've stayed...!" I exclaimed.
Zavier stopped me, "Listen. You couldn't have known. You did nothing wrong. You were just following what you thought was the right thing. Plus, I'm alright. I'm not going to die just yet," he said, giving me a playful smirk. My eyes watered even more, and I let out a sob. "Geeze. Stop crying already..." he said softly, pulling me down to sit on his bed with him, and giving me a hug, "You know that I wouldn't let anything happen to you. I did this to myself." I clutched his shirt tightly. "Stop your tears, because it makes me sad too. You look prettier when you're smiling, so please show me your beautiful smile," he said. He planted a kiss on my forehead, and leaned back to look me in the eyes, "Please?" he asked.
I let go of him, and put my fingers at the ends of my mouth. I pulled them up, making myself smile. Zavier laughed, "It's progress, but if I don't see your actual smile by tomorrow, I'll be mad at you," he said. We sat in silence for a little bit. "You know... when I was... asleep... I had a dream that we got married, "Zavier said suddenly. I turned my head quickly, staring at him. He smirked, "What?" he asked. "No... you just shocked me..." I said. "Anyways... I remembered thinking to myself in the dream that I was so glad that I pursued after you... hmm... I remember that your dad and Vince were both tied down by your mother and your sisters, so when they said 'If objects to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace,' they wouldn't start screaming and yelling," Zavier said.
That made me laugh. "They would most likely do that," I said. Zavier gave me a smile, "Since you gave me a wonderful smile just now, I'll let you off the hook for looking so exhausted," he said. Vince, Collin, and Carla all came back. Carla and Vince gave me food and water. I gave them a thanks, and ate quickly. Zavier stretched a little, "Collin, I want you to take Dusk home. Both of you look like you came straight out of a zombie movie," he said, looking at us. "What? No! I'll stay here......" I started to say, but lost my ability to stand. I flopped down on Zavier bed. "What was that?" he asked me, "Can you say that again Dusk?" Collin smiled, "I'll take her," he said. "Okay. Why don't you guys go right now?" Zavier asked.
"What? Why now?" I asked him. "You almost collapsed," he stated. "I agree with Mr. Slater. You should go home and get a proper rest, Ms. Sinclaire," Dr. Graves said at the doorway. I nodded, "Fine," I muttered. "Oh, and Mr. Slater, you have a guest," Dr. Graves said. A man in a suit walked in. He had silky black hair, and piercing green eyes. :Why don't all of you leave?" Zavier asked. Vince and Carla both left, not saying a word. "What? Who's this?" I asked Zavier, as the guy went to the side of Zavier's bed. The guy looked up at me and gave me a smile, "You could call me his a-" he was cut off by Zavier elbowing his stomach. "He's my brother," Zavier said. That's a little suspicious. "Yeah. I guess you could say brothe, I really am his brother," the guy said.
"But you were going to say something else..." I said. "It's nothing, just go home," Zavier said, looking away from me. "Oh... okay..." I said. Collin pulled me away, and we walked out of the hospital together. Just before the door closed, I heard the guy quietly ask, "Was she the one who did this to you?" The door shut all the way, and Collin tugged me along. Either Collin didn't hear that, or he chose to ignore it. Why would he say something like that?! I already feel horrible about myself...! I've never, in my entire life, wished for something so much. Why can't I just get this one wish?!!!!
