Entry 23:

How can I stay strong when someone I know is on the verge of dying? People can't actually turn to me, and think I'd have enough strength to help... I'm weak. I could never be strong enough to hold us both. But... I wish I wer. I wish I weren't weak, so I could help us both, so don't have to depend on them. I wish I were strong enough so they could depend on me. There's nothing I can do... for now, I have to wipe away my tears, and just hope that everything will be alright. I'll just have to see if this situation will be... familiar... to me in the future...

"Just rest for now, Dusk... you've changed the bandages and gave him water already, so it's fine for now," I heard Bex say, as my head started to nodd of. I sat up straight, and shook my head. "No! I have to stay awake," I said. I heard a sigh come from the white fox demon, but he said nothing. I sighed, "Why aren't they back yet...?" I asked, panic rising in my voice again. "I told you to calm down," Bex said with a sigh. "I know!!! But I can't freaking calm down!" I exclaimed.

"Can you... please... try...?" I heard. I looked down to see Zavier sitting up. He just looked exhausted. He was breathing hard, and clutched onto the sofa, as he moved. "What are you doing? Don't move!" I heard Bex yell in irritation. Zavier stopped moving, and just stared at Bex in awe. "Quit staring! Go to sleep before I make you, Nightwalker!" Bex yelled again. Zavier sighed, "I'll be fine. Just take me home," he said, trying to stand. I watched him struggle, and give up. "See? You can't even stand. What makes you think you could even go home?" I asked. He looked up at me, "I can't stay here. I'd be a bother," he said. "You're being a bother by trying to go home like that!" I exclaimed. "Why're you yelling?" he asked, slightly irritated.

I breathed out a laugh. I was dumbfounded. "Why am I yelling?! I'll tell you! I didn't see you for a while, and when I finally do, you're all cut up and bleeding to death!" I exclaimed. "It doesn't matter anymore...It was all nothing," Zavier said calmly. "Yeah, right. It was all nothing. You were only dying in your room, where no one would've found you," I said, the sarcasm dripping out like venom. I heard the door click open. "Dusk, we're home-" I heard Mum begin to say. She stopped and gasped. "What happened?!" she exclaimed. "It's nothing..." Zavier said. "Don't give me that!! Obviously something happened if you turned out like this," she said.

"Just tell us. We want to help," I said, sitting next to him. He sighed, "Fine," he stated, "I was attacked when I was at my apartment. "By what?" I asked. "I'm not entirely sure. I wasn't able to see it. All I felt were claws digging into. The next thing I know, I woke up here," he answered. Mum took a deep breath, "Alright. I'll try and see if I can get a hold of some people. For now... I think he needs blood," she said. I instantly stood up, "I'll do it," I stated. Mum's head shot to the left to look at me, "What?!" she asked. "I'll do it," I repeated. "Why?" she asked. "... because... I sort of... already.. am... his ....food source..." I said. She took another deep breath, and sat down at the counter, "And you failed to tell me, why?" she asked. "Because I knew you'd act this way," I said quietly.

"Do what you have to. Your father and I will go to the hospital to get extra supplies," she said with a sigh. We all nodded. She silently left, and I turned back to Zavier. "... How do we do this...?" I asked awkwardly. "We don't. We'll wait or them to get back from the hospital," Zavier stated. Bex stood in front of me, "I agree with him. We don't know if he'd be able to control himself," he said. "I want to help," I said. "I know, but I can't afford to have you die because I couldn't control myself," Zavier shot back. He tugged on my sleeve, and my face was extremely close to his. "Don't just expect me to take it," Zavier said, keeping eye contact with me. "What are you talking about?" I asked. His head tilted to the side, "... You... remind me of someone..." he said.
