Entry 29:
I don't usually get scared that easily, but sometimes, I do. I'm fine watching scary movies and stuff, but when it comes down to things that happen in real life, of course I'd be scared. Things lurking in the shadows; people trailing behind you, waiting to kill you. Sitting by yourself, in a dark room full of silence, wondering to yourself, How will I die? Am I going to wake up tomorrow? What would it be like after I've died? Your mind thinks of things that scare you, and you shut your eyes tight, but will that stop the things from getting to you? Is this why we creatures of the dark exist? Do we actually feed of human fright? If you think about it... humans and the rest of us are similar. We're taught what to fear, and when we finally see the true monster, we all get scared.

"Why do I have to tell you? Why don't you just ask him yourself?" I asked. "Why do that, when I could just ask you?" Dane said cockily. I growled, "You're testing your limits," I said irritably. Dane laughed, "I'm just asking. I seriously wanna know what he's like. I wanna know if I have to kick his ass," he said, flexing his muscles. "He's not my boyfriend. He won't be anytime soon," I said, kind of sad. "Well.. he could always change his mind," Dane said, nudging me with his elbow and winking. I sighed, "I've asked him what he feels. He said he doesn't, so you have nothing to worry about," I said. We finished and stood up. I'm surprised they weren't listening in on us. I stared at the group in the living room. They were all playing a family game on the game system.
My phone rang, and I got a couple of glances from my family. "I'll be right back," I said, quickly running outside. I answered my phone. "Hello?" I asked. "Dusk? It's Collin," I heard from the other end. "Oh! What's up?" I asked, a smile on my face. "Where are you at the moment?" he asked me. "I'm at my aunt's house, up in the mountains," I said, "Why?" There was a short pause, "Okay. Just... stay inside. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you didn't recieve one..." Collin said. "Recieve what? What's wrong?" I asked, suddenly getting the chills. "I'll tell you. Are you outside?" he asked me. "Yeah... should I not be?" I asked. He cursed under his breath, "Listen. Stay inside, like I said before. Someone might have followed you up to where you are. Did you go alone?" he asked me.
I shook my head, like he could see me. "No, I went with Vince and Zavier," I said, my voice a little shaky. I looked around outside, feeling goosebumps on my arms. I shuddered. "I-I feel scared..." I mumbled. I heard a twig snap, and I let out a loud gasp. I turned quickly, to only found Bex coming from inside. "What is it?" Collin asked, a little panicked. "I'm fine... It was only Bex. He stepped on a twig," I said with relief. "Why are you still outside? Go back in," Collin said firmly. "Sorry!" I squeaked. I grabbed Bex, and ran inside, shutting the door and locking it quickly. "I'm inside now," I said into the phone. "Okay. Just stay with Vince and Zavier, if your aunt or anyone leaves or something, and... you honestly didn't recieve anything... suspicous...?" he asked.
"No. Can you tell me what's happening?" I asked, sitting on the floor. "I got a blackmail letter," Collin said. "What?! From who?! When?!" I exclaimed. "Calm down. It may just be a bluff. It's from an 'Anon.' I got it today in my mail. Anyways, are you okay? Nothing happened?" Collin asked me. "No. Nothing at all. We didn't recieve a letter or anything... what if something happend to my parents?!" I exclaimed. I could feel my tears coming, and so could Collin. "Shhh. Calm down. If it helps, I'll go check on them, and you can call them after I hang up. Okay? So just try and be calm. If anything happens, let me know right away. Tell Vince and Zavier. You don't have to get your family worked up, so be discreet," he said. I wiped at my eyes, nodding to myself. "Okay. I got it... Please be safe," I said. I heard him let out a small laugh. "Why'd you laugh?" I asked. "I... I'm just happy you're worried for me. Oh, when are you supposed to come back?" he asked. "Well... we were going to ride the last bus home," I said.
