Entry 33:
I have gotten so used to being in the light of things, that I was oblivious to the thought of the dark. Even when I did remember it existed, I felt cold and hollow inside, like a sure death would come to me. It's not exactly the dark I'm afraid of... it's what's in it, and controlling it that bothers me. Something that could make objects lose their light is frightening in and of itself. It scares me to death to think about what the darkness could possibly swallow up. It scares me to think about me being swallowed up in the darkness, and sitting in it... in the dark nothingness, all alone.

"How are we going to investigate, when we don't even know where this... 'Shadow''.... could be?" Vince asked, sounding irritated. "They could be anywhere. They're called Shaows for a reason. They hide in the dark, observe others, and keep a close eye on their prey," Zavier murmured, thinking out loud. "Is there any way to deflect it?" I asked hesitantly. I made eye contact with Zavier.
"Light," he said simply. "... light?" I asked. "Yes. Light wins against the dark, remember? We just need a way to get light on to it..." Zavier said, thinking again. "Wait. It was in moonlight, why didn't that work?" I asked. "The night is its domain. Moonlight has no effect," Jase answered. I bit my lip, not wanting to move.
"This is about all we can think of right now. So, we'll take turns watching over Dusk," Zavier said. "What?! What the hell do you think I am?! A freaking flag in capture the flag?!" I exclaimed. "Listen to him. He knows the most about demons and other subjects that we can't even begin to comprehend," Carla said to me.
I wass irritable. The whole situation bugged me. Why me of all people? I never did anything to catch other people's attention. "I wasn't trying to make it sound like that, Dusk. I just don't want to lose you to some demon that is supposed to be dead," Zavier said, looking me in the eyes. I quickly glanced away, only nodding to show I understood.
Zavier turned to Collin. "Is it alright if we stay here?" he asked Collin. Collin nodded mutely. Vince was still quivering with anger, so I tried to calm him down as everyone else got situated. When Vince was calm enough, I turned towards Zavier. He and Jase were planning on what to do the next morning.
Collin walked over to me, giving me a weary smile. "Are you alright?" he asked me. I nodded. "What about yourself? You still look like crap," I stated. He let out a small laugh, "That's something I want to hear," he teased. I shook my head at him, "Go get some sleep. You look scarier than the Shadow right now." He gave out a small sigh, and stayed where he was.
It was only a few moments later, when I heard Zavier walk over towards me. I had just taken a seat at the counter of Collin's kitchen. "We've come up with a plan. We're going to have to lay low for a while, so we're going to go somewhere in a few hours. Go get some more rest," he told me. Collin stood up, and motioned for me to follow him.
We walked down the hall, and turned into an open door. It was the master bedroom. "What are you doing?" I asked warily. "Don't worry. I'm not trying anything, I swear. Just sleep in here, we're camping out in the living room," Collin said. "What? No. I can't-" he cut me off. "I wasn't asking you to stay in here. I'm telling you to stay in here," he said.
"It's fine-" he cut me off again. "Do I need to put you on the be myself?" he asked. My eyes widened. He rose an eyebrow, taunting me to give a remark. "No. Just go already," I said, pushing him lightly. He rolled his eyes, and walked out the room. I plopped down on the bed. It was a bit hard to fall asleep, with the bed smelling like Collin. I shrugged it off, and soon fell asleep.
