Entry 12:

There's always been that one thing that you never expect to happen, but you just have a feeling that it was going to happen. You sit there thinking, "Ok, somethings a little... off. I know something's going to happen, but I'm not sure what it is." When that "thing" actually happens, you tend to tell yourself, "I knew it!" when in reality you had no exact idea what just happened. Things like this tend to happen unexpectedly, and sometimes, can hit you so hard you want to cry or even scream. But, for others, they find it amusing that you can even have those reactions at something so simple and stupid.

Zavier waved a hand in front of my face, and repeated his question, "Dusk, what's wrong? Are you okay?" I took several deep breaths, and faced him. How exactly do I tell him this? I mean... it should be quite easy, but why do I feel... ashamed? I never do... even when I told Carla, I didn't feel ashamed... I frowned a little, "I'm sorry... I just can't handle roller coasters well," I said. I usually don't care what others say, but for some reason... I felt like I'd cry if he laughed in my face. I heard him chuckle a little, and I felt tears forming in my eyes. "Why didn't you tell me that? We don't have to go on. I thought something serious happened to you," he said, sighing in relief. The tears in my eyes disappeared, and I looked at him, slightly puzzled.

"What?" I asked. Zavier gave me a reassuring smile, "It's fine. Let's just go do something else," he said, leading the way. He didn't let go of my hand, and I smiled a little. When he suddenly stopped, I ran right into his back. I saw him looking up at something, and I looked up too. Zavier was staring up at the flashing lights of the ferris wheel. "Let's go on," I said. He looked at me and nodded happily. We got in line, and didn't have to wait long. We got into the seats, and sat down, Zavier sliding the door behind us. Two by two, people got on, and soon, the ferris wheel went on without stopping.

We went up to the top, and I leaned my head against the window, staring down at the world beneath us. Lights were everywhere, and people looked like ants. We went around again, but this time, the Ferris Wheel stopped abruptley, making the "box" we were in rock. We were at the very top of the ferris wheel. Zavier and I looked at each other, and agreed to just sit and wait. I looked at the time on my cellphone. It read 10:00 pm.

We waited for thirty minutes, and looked down again. "I think somethings wrong..." I said, thinking out loud. Zavier nodded, "I think so too... look..." he said, pointing at a crowd of people just standing by the ferris wheel. I stared down, and noticed that the crowd of people weren't standning at all. They had all collapsed. I looked around, and noticed that the other passengers had fainted too. Zavier sniffed the air, and his eyes widened. "What?" I asked. "There's a gas everywhere," he said. "What? What gas?" I asked. "Ambrosia Gas. It makes humans fall asleep, sometimes even kills them, depending on how much is released to them," he said. "And since we aren't human, it doesn't do anything to us?" I asked.

"Yes and no," he said. "What does that even mean?" I asked. "Well... it all depends on how much we're used to it. I had special training... but I'm not sure how long you can last..." he said, his voice slightly worried. "What do we do?" I asked. He said nothing, and opened the door. "W-What're you planning to do?" I asked. "Do you trust me?" was all he asked. "Why...?" I asked, my voice quivering. "Just answer the question," he said. I nodded, "I trust you," I said. "Then hold on to me, and no matter what, do not open your eyes," he said, holdin out his hand.

I was feeling slightly dizzy, and I could feel my heart rate speeding up. I crawled towards Zavier, trying to stay steady. As soon as I got next to him, he grabbed my arm, and held me close. Is he planning on jumping?! He took a deep breath, and put my hed against his chest. "Close your eyes, and hold on tight to me. On the count of three hold your breath," he said. I nodded. "One..." he began, "Two... Three." I shut my eyes, and held my breath. I was trying to hold on tight to him, but I could feel my arms slipping. If I let go... I'll die... I held on tighter, and soon, I felt the ground beneath us.
