This Feeling

Entry 39:

Zavier's been acting strange. I'm not going to lie. I'm so worried, I'm not even going to try and cover up his name like I usually do. He says it's nothing, but I'm pretty sure he's up to something. The fact that he's hiding it from me, makes me sick. I have this weird feeling. I've had it from deep within my chest ever since the day the queen talked to Zavier. I... I just wish I knew what this feeling is...

~

The night past by in a fun blur. Everything was fine until I woke up the next day. The next morning, I had a heavy feeling in my chest. I thought sitting at the park, just letting my thoughts drift in the rain would help... but, now I'm only sitting here on the swing set, soaking wet. I stared up at the gloomy sky above me. "Babe, let's go. We can still make it if we catch the bus," I heard from behind me. I turned my head to see a couple walking down the sidewalk under the same umbrella. They seemed to glow under the light of the crosswalk.

I sighed, "Why does human love shine so brightly and beautifully?" I asked myself. I felt warm arms wrap around my waist from behind, "Obviously you haven't seen how much brighter we are compared to them," I heard a comforting familiar voice say. My head was tilted upwards to see Zavier's handsome face leaning over me. "How did you find me?" I asked, in an emotionless voice. "I was on my way home from the store, and I felt your presence. What's up, why're you here?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

Zavier lightly pushed the swing I was on, letting me swing back and forth. "I was just thinking," I asnwered. "About what?" he asked. "I.... It's nothing," I muttered. He suddenly grabbed the chain, and stopped me. He looked down at my face, and I stared up at him. "Don't tell me 'it's nothing' when there's obviously something wrong with you," Zavier said, frustration evident in his voice.

"I was honestly just thinking about random things... mainly about us," I admitted. Zavier rested his chin on my head, "What kinds of things?" I brought my knees up to my chest and practically curled up into a ball. "Well... I had this weird feeling... Ever since the queen talked to you, you were upset. I just left it alone, thinking you'd tell me when you were ready, but now, I have this weight in my chest, like something is about to happen," I explained, "Like you're keeping something extremely important from me."

Zavier planted his lips on my forehead, and pulled back again. "I promise you that I'm not hiding anything, alright?" he asked. I bit my bottom lip. "Listen, when we were first partners, we already promised each other, right? So, there's nothing I'm lying to you about," he said reassuringly. I slowly nodded. "... Come with me," he said suddenly. "What? Why?" I asked. "Can't you hear it?" he asked as he helped me up. I paused to listen, in the distance I heard loud clashes of thunder.

Was I too focused on Zavier that I lost track of my suroundings? As the rain started pouring down even harder,  we began to run towards whoever's house was closer. In little to no time at all, we were at Zavier's apartment. We rushed inside, and took the elevator up. I was shivering, regretting ever sitting in the rain.

The elevator came to a stop, and we went inside Zavier's new apartment room (A/N: In one of the past chapters, he was attacked, and was living with Dusk and her family for a while. They somehow convinced the apartment manager that it was a break in, and got him a new room. Sorry, I did not know how to fit all that in there, so yeah...). He walked in, and immediately went to the thermostat, making it a bit warmer.

I shuttered as I hugged myself for some warmth. Zavier disappeared behind a door, and came back with a towel. I dried off, but still had soaked clothes. "Stay here a minute," Zavier said, and ran back into his room. He came back out, grabbed my wrist, and lead me into his room. "Take a shower. I left you some of my clothes on my bed. You can lock the door if you find it necessary, but I'll be waiting right outside the door... so I won't do anything," he said. I nodded, and walked inside, shutting the door behind me.
