Ryan's POV

We had just finished our soundcheck session and we're signing autographs for the fans who had paid a little extra for VIP tickets (these were a new idea by Alice) I was just about to pose for a photo with yet another 'your biggest fan ever' when my cellphone rang. It was Leroy "Hey Man is everything okay?" I paused and listened to his panicked reply.

"Not really Ry, it's Abi you need to come now. We're in your dressing room" I quickly hang up the phone and turn to Brent who is watching me.

"I need to check on Ab's, that was Leroy something's wrong" I manage, Brent nods at me as I rush out of the room and in the direction of our dressing room.

"Abi" I say loudly as I crash through the door, as I walk in I can she sitting on the couch with a glass of water and a medic checking her blood pressure "Are you okay baby?" I kneel in front of her and rest my hands on her lap. She smiles and nods at me.

"I'm fine, it was just a twinge that's all" I turn to Leroy who is shaking his head.

"Okay Mrs Tedder everything seems fine but I would like you to go and get checked out at the hospital" the female medic smiled as she put her equiptment away.

"I'm fine honestly" Abi smiled weakly "It's gone now"

"All pains when your pregnant need to be investigated Mrs Tedder" the medic argued and Abi frowned.

"Yes they do" I intervene "Come on I can take you in the car now, Leroy would you mind coming with us?" I remembered the crowds that had gathered outside and the ones that would no doubt gather at the hospital.

"Yeah no problem" Leroy seemed happy I had intervened. Neither of us wanted Abi to ignore this "I'll call Alice and let her know what is happening" Leroy follows the medic out into the corridor.

"I feel fine honestly" Abi smiles at me, I still have my hand rested on her thighs.

"Yeah I know you do baby and thats great, but I would feel much better if we got you checked out properly" I sigh.

"Yeah but what about Sandra, I thought she was coming g over to talk to you guys" Abi protested, Sandra was a promoter (she could wait).

"We won't take that long at the hospital I'm sure Sandra won't mind waiting 30 minutes or so under the circumstances"

"Yeah I guess your right" Abi finally agrees with me, she reaches her hands out for me to help her up. I stand first and then pull her upwards towards me "I know I said I wanted to spend some time alone with you today but this is ridiculous" Abi had a mischevious smile on her face, which seems to be infectious as I soon find myself sharing the very same smile.

"Mrs Tedder" a female Duty doctor called out here we go again, I think quietly as I follow Abi into a side room. The doctor is a very glamorous, slim, middle aged woman.

"So Mrs Tedder..."

"Abi, please" Abi corrected her quickly.

"Of course, so Abi" the doctor smiled a she opened a folder of notes "I see you are expecting twins?"

"Yeah" I reply without thinking, the doctor looks at me and smiles.

"I don't need to ask who you are" she laughs at little.

"Ryan Tedder...?" Abi frowns and the doctor laughs again.

"I was going to say Dad actually" she seems amused. I can't hide my smile either.

"Oh" Abi stands corrected.

"So how many weeks are you Abi?" The doctor doesn't linger on the misunderstanding, she just presses ahead with her questions.

"24 weeks and 3 days" Abi looks at me and smiles, god I love that smile.

"And you have experienced some pain, is that right?" Abi nods as the doctor gestures towards the bed "Okay let's see what's going on" Abi lifts up her top and the doctor scans her stomach "Right, you'll be pleased to know everything looks fine. Both babies have very strong heartbeats, but I think I have found the problem"

"What is it?" I ask eagerly, Abi throws me a looks of concern as she reaches out for my hand. I grip it in mine tightly, she looks so vulnerable laid there on the bed.

"One of the placentas seems to be very low, that is probably what is causing the discomfort" the doctor seems satisfied with her diagnosis "Unfortunately there isn't alot we can do, however I would strongly suggest that you make sure you are in hospital for the birth. Although it isn't completely covering the cervix, there are still alot of complications that are involved with low placenta"

"What kind of complications?" Abi's hand has tightened around mine as she asks the doctor.

"Placental Abruption, Haemorrhaging..." the doctor paused as she reached into her bag, she pulled out a leaflet and handed it to Abi "Here is a list of hospitals which all specialise in this sort of thing, just in case you around are not at home when anything happens"

"Thank you" Abi smiles.

"I mean it though, I cannot stress enough how important it is that you have these babies in a hospital" the doctor smiles again.

"I'll make sure she gets there" I reassure the doctor while Abi rearranges her top "Thanks again for seeing us"

"So is everything Okay?" Leroy asked urgently as we walked I tot the main lobby of the hospital, he had been waiting for us. Abi nodded and smiled as she looked at the scan picture the doctor had given us.

As we walk toward the door, we are greeted by the usual group of photographers "Shit these guys don't miss a trick" i moan as I hold the door open for Abi, Leroy follows us out. I put my hand on the small of Abi's back and lead her in the direction of our car.

"Yeah I'm pretty sure they have tracking devices" Abi jokes, I laugh loudly.

"Can I ask you to step back please guys?" Leroy is now in front of us, we turn in different directions for a few shots and then continue to push through them all "Move aside, give Abi some space, step back"

We eventually make it to the car, I get in the drivers side and start the engine. Leroy opens the door for Abi and she gets in beside me and then he hops in the back.

"I wish they'd back off sometimes" I hated admitting this but sometimes I just think it would be nice to go unnoticed.

"I'm glad they don't" Leroy replied, I glanced at him through the rear view mirror "Well what can I say, I would be out of a job if they weren't like that" Abi's cheeky little giggle was like music to my ears.

"And very good at it you are too" Abi teased. I could see her out of the corner of my eye, she was watching me.

"What?" I smile and glance quickly at her, she is grinning widely...

"SHIT RYAN!!!..." Abi's scream fills the car, I don't see the car coming at the side of us until it's too late. It hits the side of our Range Rover with force.

I instinctively put my arm out in front of Abi to protect her as the car spins out of control, then she screams again as a truck ploughs towards us with his horn beeping loudly. There is nothing I can do...my whole life is flashing before my eyes...then nothing...
