Chapter 59

Ryan's POV

I hate how well Abi knows me sometimes and although I managed to avoid the subject this time, I knew she would eventually make me talk to her. This was the last thing she needed to worry about, I turned to face Alice. She was holding a copy of today's New York Times "Abi's made the papers again" Alice chuckled as she opened the paper in front of me 'Trying times for Abigail and Ryan Tedder?'

"It's no secret that Ryan and Abigail have been spending some time apart recently, but after spotting Abigail Jenson-Tedder not wearing her wedding ring for the 3rd time this week. Maybe it's more than they are letting on, could this be the end of the celebrity couple. Is the pregnancy taking its toll on them?" I read out loud "Oh man this is ridiculous" I quickly grab my cell again and take a picture of the article and photo of Abi they have taken.

I send it to Abi and then turn my attention to Alice "So what's the story with the label?"

"Ryan I can't really disclose anything?" Alice frowned, this annoyed me.

"You can't just tell me the label are dropping us and then tell me nothing" I snap more than I should have, it works though Alice nods and takes a deep breath.

"They are seriously in debt" Alice looks at the floor before looking back up at me "It's not just you suffering, they are shutting down the label completely so that means everyone signed will be dropped too"

"How can they be in debt?" I don't really understand how they could he in debt, what we have earned for our last few albums and from the tour must be a fair amount.

"Larry Carlston has been skimming money for years, the label owes tens of millions of dollars in taxes" Alice looks upset.

"Shit, what about you?" I am now worried for Alice's job.

"I get dropped too" she sighed "It couldn't have come at a worse time, Trevor and I are filing for divorce..."

"What? Jesus Alice why didn't you say anything? That's huge" Alice had been our assistant manager for years, pretty much since we started the band "Listen don't worry about a job, you work for OneRepublic not the label"

"Thanks Ryan" Alice's smile is shallow and troubled.

"So what happened?" I ask gently, I don't want to pry too much "Tell me to mind my own business..."

"No it's fine" Alice looked up at me "Trevor hated all the time to put into my job, he said I was always at work and never made an effort to be at home"

"Ah man" I can't believe what I'm hearing Alice has lost her husband over the job she is losing "That sucks can't you guys work it out?"

"No honey that ship sailed a long time ago" Alice smiled "Trevor got his attention elsewhere while I was away"

"What a jackass" this infuriated me, what a total douchebag "Well like I said before, you still have your job with us if you want" Alice nods her head, just as my cell phone started ringing "I gotta take this it's Ab's"

"Hey baby" I answer the call.

"More break up stories, wow" she chuckles "and that is an old photo, I don't even look pregnant on it. In fact I don't even think we were married then"

"Yeah I did wonder that myself"

"Hey baby I gotta go I am half way through filming, I will call you later though. I love you"

"I love you too" I reply before hanging up "Right let's get back to rehearsals"

"So Ryan what do you like to do before a show to relax, is there any special teqniques you have...?" Lauren from Genesis Radio smiles widely, I agreed to do an interview with her.

"Not really I like to just sit quietly and reflect...no I'm just kidding. I just hang out with the guys to be honest have a couple of beers..." I reply.

"Okay, now as you know we are massive fans of your wife down here" I laugh a little at her comment "All the guys love Abigail, so what we want to know is even though she looks beautiful pretty much 24/7, what is she like at home? What kind of things does she wear at home?"

"Erm usually sweat pants and a t-shirt or just one of my shirts" I reply with a cheeky smile "I mean Abi is naturally beautiful, with or without make-up she's gorgeous. She won't wear heels at home obviously, in fact I think she just walks around in barefeet most of the time"

"So she doesn't look glammed up then?"

"Not really, not at home" I smile "I mean my wife is like most women at home, walks around in one of my shirts eating Ben and Jerry's out of the tub with a spoon"

"Lounging about on the couch?"

"No Abi doesn't really sit very still for long, she is either doing something around the house or dancing in her studio" I think of being at home with her.

"Oh so Abi does her own housework then?"

"Yeah absolutely, she cooks, cleans, does laundry, we don't have a housemaid or cleaner. Abi likes to do it all herself"

"Wow I never would have guessed that" Lauren smiles again "Okay you said she likes to dance at home, have you seen her dance?"

"Yes of course, she is amazing to watch. You sort of get lost in her when she dances"

"Does she still dance as much now she is pregnant?" I laugh and nod "Yeah she still dances, just much slower"

"Now we'd love for you to just clear something up for us, today we saw an article in the New York Times, claiming your relationship with Abi is becoming strained and she was even spotted recently not wearing a wedding ring. As fans should we be worried?"

"Definately not, my wife and I are absolutely fine. The photo the paper used was actually an old photograph of Abi, I mean she is much bigger now"

"Yeah of course, so what about the lack of wedding rings"

"We weren't married when the photo was taken and to be honest there are lots of times when Abi can't wear her rings because of work, if she is filming then she usually has to take them off"

"Yeah I think this has always been an on going battle with the press, even when she was married to Nick they would pull stories like this out of no where"

"It's ridiculous" I find myself frowning, which causes Lauren to look worried.

"So we have nothing to worry about?"

"No not at all, Me and Ab's are perfectly happy. We are not getting divorced and we are not having problems" I chuckle.

"Well that's good news, we just wanted to get that out there" Lauren smiled "Okay Ryan let's discuss your up and coming album, do you have a release date yet?"

"Not as such, but we are hoping to get it finished in time for christmas" I smile.

"Awesome, you have no idea how much we are looking forward to hearing it" Lauren suddenly smiled "That's not the only thing you are expecting at Christmas??"

I can't help but laugh out "Yeah it's not quite Christmas but yeah the twins are also due in December"

"You must be really excited?"

"Yeah we are" I smile as I think about Abi and the twins "It's a new chapter in our lives so it's really exciting stuff"
