Chapter 37

Ryan's POV

I was really impressed by how well the interview was going, Cal was very laid back and relaxed and he didn't seem to put too much pressure on Ab's which was great. He did have a bit of flirting banter with her at he beginning, but let's face it who wouldn't.

I was married to one of the most lusted after women in the world, this wasn't just me being biased either it was a well known fact. She had been voted Sexiest Woman in about 6 or 7 different magazines this year so far.

"So Abigail..." she hates being called Abigail I think to myself as I continue to listen to the interview. I find myself lost in a moment, the moment I felt my babies move. I wonder if she can feel them now, god she's beautiful...

"...Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us today, we really appreciate it" Cal was closing up the interview shit it's been 50 minutes I look at my watch and then back at Abi, she is standing up and hugging Cal and Hannah. I wait for her to come out of the studio "I meant what I said before, I really appreciate you coming in today. It isn't very often big time stars like yourself give us the time of day, we usually get overlooked" Cal came out of the studio behind Abi.

"It's fine, I've really enjoyed it" Abi smiled I can see she is tired and ready to get back to the hotel now "I am just sorry I couldn't stay longer"

"Oh no don't be silly, you get yourself to bed and get some sleep" Cal smiles "It's been nice to meet you Abigail and you too Ryan" Cal shakes my hand.

"Yeah you too Man" I reply

"Maybe next time you and your band could come along for a chat"

"Yeah absolutely" I smile before turning to Abi, she had started to leave the room.

I wrap my arm around her shoulders and walk down the corridor with her "Are you okay baby?" She seems very quiet.

"Yeah I just need sleep" she looks up at me, I kiss her forehead as we wait for the elevator doors to open.

Abi's eyes close as soon soon as her head hits the pillow, I knew she was tired. I find myself watching her sleep for a while, she looks so beautiful and peaceful. As I watch her, I find myself getting completely lost in her.

I lay down on the bed beside her and rest my hand gently on her stomach, as I listen to her breathing I can feel my eyes get heavier and heavier.

As my eyes open I am happy to see Abi is in the place I left her, fast asleep beside me. My phone is vibrating along the bed, I answer it quickly so the vibrations don't wake Ab's "Hello" I whisper. Abi has hold of my other hand and arm, so I know if I move it will disturb her.

"Hey Ryan it's Leroy, we have a problem"

"What kind of problem?" I didn't like where this could be heading, the last time he said something like this was when someone tried to get into Abi's hotel room.

"Does the name Kelsey Riley, mean anything to you?"

"No why?" I had never heard that name before.

"Tony called me, Stella has been in touch with him because Kelsey was arrested earlier this morning"

"For what?" I wasn't sure exactly where he was going with this, Leroy didn't reply "Leroy, what was she arrested for?"

"She has been collecting information about Abi, photos, locations, personal details. Ryan she has been plotting some sort of revenge attack against Abi"

"What?" Why the hell would someone want revenge against my wife?

"Tomorrow at the fashion show in Quebec, apparently the police seized a large amount of acid from Kelsey's house after one of her friends tipped them off about her plans" he isn't telling me everything "Ryan her plan was to dowse Abi in acid at the Fashion Show tomorrow, she knew Abi was going to be modelling.

"What?" I can hardly speak, why would someone want to do such a thing to another human being "Why?"

"Because she was Dominic Hendlys girlfriend" my blood ran cold as soon as Leroy told me. I started to think about the fashion show and what could have happened if her friend hadn't figured out what was going on, and called the police shit.

"We can't tell Ab's any of this" I whisper, as my attention returns to this incredible woman sleeping beside me. She all of a sudden looks very small and fragile laid there in a tangle of her own hair, she is still holding onto my hand and arm "Not yet anyway, she has only just come to terms with what happened to Hendly, the last thing she needs is to find out his crazy girlfriend is seeking revenge"

"Agreed, but we should tell her before she goes back to Georgia" I agree with Leroy, she does need to know eventually. Just not right now.

"Yeah I will tell her before she goes back to Georgia" Abi starts to stir and I realise this is my cue to hang up "I gotta go she is waking up, I'll talk to you later about it"

I watch as Abi's eyes flicker open "Hey" she says softly "What time is it?" She reaches over and picks up her iPhone up off the side "Shit" she cries as she shoots up in bed "It's 2 o'clock"

"Yeah I know, soundcheck isn't until 5. We both needed the sleep"

"I guess, is everything okay? I heard you talking on the phone" What did you hear? Oh shit.

"Yeah everything's fine baby" I lie so unconvincingly, Abi frowns but doesn't say anything else "Oh Alice managed to get us an appointment with a doctor at 3.30"

"Oh that's good" I could see Abi knew I was keeping something from her, but I wasn't ready to tell her yet.

"Speaking of which we had better get ready"

Luckily the hospital wasn't too far from the hotel, we waited in a small grey room for the doctor "Good Afternoon Mr and Mrs Tedder I am Dr Sill, I understand you are here for a pre-natal check up?"

"Yeah, I fainted yesterday and was advise by a medic to come and see a doctor as soon as I could" Abi explained.

"I see" the doctor looked at Abi "Have you fainted in the pregancy before?"

"No, but the medic thought it could be down to the situation we were in at the time. I was stuck in a crowd of people that was closing in around me, he thought it was some kind of anxiety attack.

"It does sound like it, apart from fainting Mrs Tedder have you been feeling generally well in yourself?"

"Yeah I've been fine" Abi puts her legs on the bed and looks at the nurse who has just entered the room with a mobile ultrasound machine.

"Okay well first of all I would like to take a look and see how the babies are doing, then I would like to take a urine sample and some bloods if that's okay with you?" Abi nods and I perch on the bed.

As the doctor squeezes some gel on Abi's stomach, I feel her grab my hand "Okay, so here is baby number one" I look at the screen "And baby number two seems to be tucked in there nicely. Both heartbeats are good and strong and they seem to be growing perfectly well, would you like to know the sex?"

"You can tell that now?"Abi just stares at him "I'm only 17 weeks"

"Oh I'd say you were more like 21 or 22 weeks actually"

Hang on, what? Abi's mouth gapes as she tried to process the news "Did you just say 21 or 22 weeks pregnant?"

"Yes your wife seems to be a little further along than we first thought, is that a problem?"

"No" I barely make a sound.
