Chapter 34

Ryan's POV

Seeing Abi sat at a different tablet to the rest of us wasn't exactly a good feeling, but I was trying to keep some distance. She had really annoyed me earlier and I didn't want to say something I shouldn't. I could tell by the look on her face that maybe my decision to do this is not the right one. She looks so angry and upset with me, I try not to pay any attention to her as I talked to Brent and Eddie about a new song for the album.

"You should really talk to her man" Zach comes and sits at the table with us and so does Drew.

"Not right now" I reply sharply "I will, but not yet"

Zach doesn't say anything else and Drew doesn't comment at all, they just join in the conversation with us about the new Album. As we are deep in conversation I can't help but look over at Abi, she is talking to Leroy. I watch as she rubs her feet together under table, Abi usually did this when she felt uneasy.

"She defended you too" Zach interrupted my thoughts "During the interview she told the guy to leave out your outburst"

I frowned as I turned to look at Abi again, she was laughing at something Leroy had said. Maybe I should go and talk to her, I stood up and walked over to her.

"I'll give you guys a minute" Leroy stood up and walked over to the rest of the band. I sat in the seat opposite her.

"You about done sulking?" She frowned as she played with some paper she had folded in her hand.

"Yeah" I try and make her smile by pulling a sad face "Abi I'm sorry I reacted like that, I was just so angry..."

"I know and I'm sorry too I shouldn't have undermined you like that, you were only trying to protect me" a smile crept across her face "I hope you don't mind sitting next to a weirdo on your way to Canada"

"What? Oh you didn't?" Please tell me she hasn't swapped seats on the plane, panic overwhelmed me.

"Nah" she laughed "I wouldn't want it to backfire, and you to spend the entire flight next to a hot young blonde"

"Is that an option?"

Abi laughed and hit my chest playfully "You idiot"

"I'm just playing baby, you're too much" I mock a cough "I mean enough for any man to handle"

"You cheeky son of a..." an announcement interrupts Abi's response to my cheekiness. It's our flight call.

We all gather our things, I am relieved me and Abi have sorted things out in time for the flight. I wasn't looking forward to flying in silence, especially when I knew she was rushing straight to do a radio interview when we landed.

"Are you two friends again now then?" Brent teased as we walked towards the terminal, Drew, Eddie and Zach followed him. I was trailing behind a little with Abi and Leroy.

"Yeah we are for now" Abi replied in a playful tone, I grabbed hold of Abi's hand and held it tightly as we walked towards the gates.

"Oh my god" a female voice gasped from behind us "Mum it's Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic and Abigail from Vampire Stories" the voice belonged to a teenage girl, she was flying to Canada with her Mum and sister. I noticed Abi smile and move closer to the young girl.

"Hello, I'm Abi" She smiled at the teenager "Whats your name?"

"Simone, and this is my sister Violet and my Mom Mary" Simone had gained some confidence "This is so weird, we are actually flying to Montreal to see you guys tomorrow night"

"Really?" I am a little surprised as she explains her reason for travelling to Montreal "So you're a fan then?"

"Oh yeah" Simone is a lot more relaxed now "We all are"

"Wow" things like this don't happen very often, but when they do it gives you a boost.

"And obviously we are all fans of your work too" Violet interrupted and spoke to Abi "In fact I have seen all the Hunters episodes and am loving the new Vampire Stories"

We are all now walking toward the airplane and continuing to talk to Simone and her family, Leroy is walking beside Abi and Simone and I am walking behind them. Mary and Violet are talking to Drew and Brent and Zach is talking to Alice on the phone.

"Give this number a call when you get to the show tomorrow night and we will see if we can sort some backstage passes for you guys" I give Mary Alice's card. We are about to board the plane and I have a feeling we won't see them again. Each of us quickly hug the three women and watch them dissappear onto the plane "They seemed like nice genuine people" I drape my arm across Abi's shoulders and walk onto the plane with her. We all then find our seats and sit in them, Leroy is next to me and Abi as usual and the rest of the guys are behind us.

"Maybe you should try and get some sleep on the flight baby" I am a little concerned for Abi's health at the moment, she has been awake for almost 23 hours and after fainting earlier...well lets just say I was less than happy about her, straight off the plane radio interview.

The flight was pretty much the same as every other flight we had been on, although it wasn't nearly as long as we were used too. We had touched down at the airport and we're waiting for our luggage "Hey Ryan are you coming with us to the hotel?" Brent asked as he lifted his suitcase off the carousel.

"No I'm gonna go to the Radio station with Abi" Abi looked shocked at this idea. Brent nodded and smiled, Abi just frowned at me.

"Baby you don't need to do that" she leant against my body, she was so tired and weak "You should get some sleep"

"I'll sleep when you do, when you're lying next to me" It sounded less cheesy in my head. Abi didn't reply she just wrapped her arms around me and hugged me. I kissed the top of her head and breathed in her scent, the thought of leaving her in less than a week was killing me now. I hadn't realised how hard it would be, the more I thought about it the more I realised I wasn't ready.

I was surprised to feel Abi jump back a little, she quickly put her hand on her stomach "You okay?" I asked, my hand instinctively covered hers. I could see Zach and Eddie were also watching.

"Yeah" she giggled lightly as she looked up at me "I can feel them move"

"Oh man" my heart flickers, it sounds stupid but at this moment in time it suddenly hits me that I am going to be a dad. I put my hand on Abi's stomach where she has shown me, she has her hands on top. We stand like this for a few moments and suddenly I feel it, I can't help but laugh a little as I feel a bubble like sensation under Abi's shirt, under her skin.

"Can you feel that?" The smile on her face flaws me completely, she is as excited as I am. I nod, it's the most incredible thing I have experienced in my whole life.

"Someone else wants to say hello to Daddy too" Abi whispers as she takes my other hand and puts it on the other half of her stomach. I wait again and feel more bubbles.

"Is that?"

"Baby one" she taps my left hand "and baby two" she then taps my right hand "Of all the times to let me know they're listening they chose now" she smiles.

I shake my head in disbelief, I cannot possibly measure or put into words the way I am feeling right now...but all of a sudden everything seems real, the fact Abi has two babies growing inside her, my babies...wow.

"I love you baby" I whisper as I lean forwards and kiss her gently.
