Scorpion stood frozen before the Demon, his katanas crossed defensively. The creature's crimson eyes bored into him, radiating an aura of malevolence that chilled the assassin to his core. Around them, the Praetorian guards closed in, spears at the ready.
The Emperor grinned triumphantly from his throne. "Did you really think it would be so easy, assassin? I have taken precautions against the likes of you. Now, you will tell me who sent you before I feed you to my pet Demon here."
Scorpion remained silent, his mind racing. He was outnumbered and outmatched. Even his prodigious skills were no match for a being from another realm. But he could not betray Mark Anthony. His code of honor forbade it.
" Surrender now i may let you live!", cried out the emperor.
The Scorpion stood still, facing the demon and the Emperor's guards. Despite overwhelming odds, he showed no fear, only cold determination. The assassin's reputation was well deserved - he would not give up easily.
The demon towered over Scorpion, his red eyes blazing with malevolent glee.
" Kwar-ti haloq za dewer... " A deep demonic growl was heard. " Nalas dir la wor lanik..."
" Sorry but i don't understand you, laughed the assassin.
"Surrender now, mortal," the demon growled in a voice that shook the very foundations of the palace. "You cannot hope to defeat me."
But the Scorpion only laughed, a harsh sound devoid of mirth. "I've faced worse than you, demon," he spat. "And I will not fail in my mission."
With lightning speed, the ninja drew his second katana and lunged at the demon, blades flashing in a deadly dance. The Praetorian Guards rushed forward to aid their infernal ally, but the Scorpion was a whirlwind of steel and parried their attacks with uncommon grace.
The Emperor watched the battle unfold with a mixture of fascination and awe. He had not expected the assassin to be so fearsome. If the Scorpion prevailed...Cold chil run down on his spine...and he could only hope that Solaris send best of his minion.
Scorpion sprang into action with blinding speed. He leapt high into the air, twisting his body to avoid the lunging guards. His katanas flashed as he sliced through their armor like paper, sending them crumpling to the floor in sprays of blood.
The demon roared in fury and charged at Scorpion, swinging a massive battle axe crackling with hellish energy. Scorpion parried the blow, the clash of metal on metal ringing through the throne room. They traded strikes in a dizzying display of martial prowess, moving faster than the human eye could follow.
Meanwhile, seizing the opportunity, Mer-Mer, Latina and Ragnar burst out of the dungeons amidst the chaos.
Suddenly they saw a familiar figure."Spartacus!", cried Mer-mer, "what are you doing here?"
It was Spartacus with a couple of gladiators who had infiltrated the villa secretly with the help of a slave."I can't trust Mark Anthony implicitly, so decided to save you myself..."
"I can't believe Julia's not with you?"
"I barely left her at the camp. If she leaves too, who's gonna lead the gladiators. Cailus is also gone on a mission."
"Let's get the hell out," Ragnar shouted. "They could find us any moment."
"Wait, I need to check one thing. Mark Anthony's assassin should have liquidated the Emperor by now. let's see if he's done his job..."
"You, "Spartacus said to the 2 gladiators, "stand here guarding the secret entrance. We'll be back in a moment..."
Shouts of alarm arose as guards spotted the escaping prisoners, but the rebels fought like cornered animals, desperate for freedom.
Latina skewered a guard with her spear, while Ragnar bashed another with his chains. Mer-Mer summoned tendrils of shadow to ensnare their pursuers, giving them precious moments to race towards the outer gates.
In the throne room, Scorpion and the demon battled on, blades clashing and dark energies crackling. Despite the assassin's unnatural speed and agility, the demon's raw strength and power drove him back. Hellfire seared Scorpion's black robes and the stench of brimstone filled the air.
With a vicious swipe, the demon sent one of Scorpion's katanas flying from his grip. The assassin rolled to avoid a killing blow, snatching up a fallen guard's sword. He hurled it like a javelin at the Emperor, who barely managed to duck behind his throne as the blade embedded itself in the wood.
Enraged, the demon redoubled his assault, forcing Scorpion on the defensive. The ninja backflipped to avoid a sweeping strike, then used his remaining sword to slice through a hanging banner. It collapsed on the demon, blinding him for a crucial moment.
Suddenly, a thunderous boom echoed through the throne room as the main doors burst open. Spartacus and his rebel forces poured in like a tidal wave, weapons drawn and faces etched with fierce determination. They had come for their imprisoned comrades, and would not be denied.
Chaos erupted as the rebels clashed with the Emperor's guards. Spartacus himself made a beeline for the Emperor, his sword thirsting for revenge. Latina, Mer-Mer, and Ragnar, freed from their cell by Scorpion's diversion, joined the fray with savage abandon.
Scorpion, seeing his opportunity, redoubled his efforts against the demon. His katanas were a blur of motion, striking at the creature's weak points with ruthless precision. Black ichor sprayed the marble floor as the demon roared in pain and fury.
The tide was turning against the Emperor. His guards fell one by one to the rebel onslaught, and now Spartacus was upon him, sword poised for the killing blow. In desperation, the Emperor turned to his last resort - a hidden mechanism in his throne that would summon Solaris' minion. If he could not have victory, he would at least ensure the rebels' doom.
Suddenly, the room filled with black smoke and a demonic figure materialised in front of everyone's astonished eyes.
Nyx, the grand necromancer.
"Last time you got away with the demon's help, he said, waving his staff. This time the demon is on my side and will grant my innermost wishes." The necromancer raised a black crystal above his head that pulsed with satanic energy.
"It's time to turn the battle to our side, "the necromancer said, and began calling his minions...
First the metal dog named Pooch materialised next to him, then a furry black spider whose mouth dripped liquid.
"Whatever you do, beware of the spider" , shouted Mer-mer.
The green liquid splattered the floor with a hiss and a foul smell spread...
" Wonderful," cried the Emperor, rubbing his hands together.
All was not lost yet. Things were turning in their favor.
"Let's make the battle a little more interesting, Nyx said, waving his staff.
Suddenly the guardsmen who had fallen to the ground stirred and with slow, jerky movements began to stand up.The heroes shuddered, for now they not only had to stand guard with the Demon, the Neromancer, and the surviving guards but with the resurrected guards as well.
"Hr.." popped out in the front Pooch and looked at Ragnar with his red eyes.
"Nooo", he almost squealed... "Good puppy... good puppy..."
