Suddenly there was a loud crash in the distance - an explosion of metal crashing and roaring that echoed through the trees, followed by a shockwave that scattered waves of dust around them. Mer-Mer looked back and saw a flash of lightning erupt, illuminating the dark forest, the flames licking at the surrounding lianas and branches.

"They've joined our forces!" he shouted, adrenaline coursing through his veins. "We need to reach them now!"Spartacus nodded sharply, his resolve renewed. "We fight alongside our brothers! It is time to show Solaris what we are made of!"With grim determination, they spurred their shadowy steeds forward, weaving through the thick brush as they approached the rebel camp huddled in the mountains. As they drew nearer, the sounds of battle became clearer - the clash of steel against steel, the shouts that echoed with urgency, and the faint rumble of energy from Solaris' automatons. As they ran toward the mountain camp, Mer-Mer looked back to assess his pursuers. The sentries were relentless, their mechanical forms cutting into the brush with eerie precision, but behind them loomed something far worse: two legions of Roman soldiers moving as a single, unyielding wave, intent on crushing any resistance.

The shadows whispered to him, urging him to tap into their depth. "The darkness can aid us, he murmured to himself, focusing on channeling its power. He could feel the resonance of Azrael's energy intertwining with his own, fueling his magic.

"Mer-Mer! Do something!" Spartacus shouted as they neared a clearing that could lead them straight to safety—or straight into the jaws of death.

With a fierce cry that echoed through the trees, Mer-Mer thrust his hands forward. The ground beneath them shuddered as tendrils of shadow erupted from the earth, forming barriers and walls that stretched out toward their pursuers. The leading sentinels stumbled against this sudden surge of darkness.

The rebels had fortified their encampment well, turning the rugged landscape into a formidable defense against invasion. Trenches filled with sharpened stakes had been dug around the perimeter while makeshift barricades were constructed from fallen trees and discarded armor.

"Were almost there!" cried Latina, her voice carrying above the chaos.

Mer-Mer felt a surge of hope swelling within himtheir comrades might just hold their ground long enough for them to make a difference. But as they emerged into view of the camp, Mer-Mer's heart sank. There before them stood Solaris' forces—an army of sentinels marching in unison, their cold metal bodies glinting ominously under the gathering storm clouds above.

"Everyone! Get ready!" Spartacus yelled as they came to a halt at the camp's edge. He dismounted first, drawing his sword with a fierce glint in his eyes. "Prepare for battle!"

Mer-Mer quickly dismounted too, feeling power thrumming through his fingers as shadows coiled eagerly around him. "Together!" he roared, channeling energy into tendrils that surged forth toward their approaching foes.

Latina took her place beside him, spear poised for action. "For freedom!" she rallied, voice cutting through the tension as she locked eyes with their allies—a blend of weary but resolute warriors ready to fight for their cause once more.
