Lucifer sat there for a moment as he took in what he had said before watching him breakdown and starting to cry, he moved and got into a position where he could hug him, As he sat there holding Alastor as he felt arms move around him and hold onto his body like it was all he had left, Lucifer felt as his body shook with the sobs as he sat there crying and he couldn't blame him, Lucifer knew just how much his mom had meant to him and for her to say that she wasn't his son anymore, he could only imagine how much of a devastating blow that was to him.
"Its alright...im here for you" Lucifer said as he rubbed Alastors back some. He knew it wasn't gonna do much of anything to help him but he was gonna do his best to try, Alastor was always a man of great composer and self control, and to see him this broken, it was a unpleasant sight to see and Lucifer wished for nothing more then to be able to fix it all for him.
"What happened up there babe?" Lucifer asked trying to get some pieces to the puzzle. Alastor tried to get his emotions under control enough to talk but just couldn't stop, his entire world had practically been turned upside down right now and he had no idea how to handle it, Lucifer felt Al shake his head.
"Its ok, we don't have talk about it now" he said softly as he rubbed his back some. He sat there holding onto Alastor as he cried for the next almost half hour, the sobs were slowing down and getting quieter and soon stopped entirely, moving his head some he looked down and took note of Alastors eyes being shut and his breathing had smoothed out some and he sighed some at this and continued to sit there holding him and running his hand through his hair. Gently moving Alastor off of his lap he laid him down on the bed before moving over and looking at the kids sleeping in the cribs, looking at the time and knowing they'd have to be fed soon he quietly left the room and headed towards the elevator, taking it down to the lobby where he saw Charlie looking up at him at as he walked into the kitchen. He wasn't surprised when he turned around from grabbing a pot that he saw Charlie standing there looking at him.
"How is he dad?" She asked with a bit of worry and concern in her tone as he sat the pot down on the stove.
"Im...not sure what happened appleseed. Something went on up there but he's not ready to talk about it, and the little bit that he has shared me..well it's not my place to tell you about that yet until I know what he wants to do" he said as he looked at her.
"Just don't go trying to get information, I've..never seen him so upset before" he said as he grabbed the milk and started to pour it into the pot.
"You want me to warm a cup for Victoria?" He asked now as he held the milk.
"No need, Vaggie is taking care of that right now" she said with a bit of a smile.
"Do..you know how long he will he affected by this?" She asked now.
"I dont know sweetie...there's not really anyway to know that, as I mentioned I've never seen him this upset, and he won't even talk to me about it yet" he said as he was putting the milk back up in the fridge.
"I'll keep you both updated on stuff but I feel this is mostly his decision to inform you, not mine" Charlie nodded as she listened to her father
"Well hopefully he gets better soon, I dont like seeing him like this" she said before leaving the kitchen as lucifer sighed some.
"You havent seen any of it" he said softly as he stirred the milk around the pot, after a few minutes and letting it get nice and warm he put it into the cups before making his way back up to the room. Opening the door he walked in and saw Alastor still asleep in thr same spot on the bed and smiled softly as he moved over to the cribs, as if on cue they opened their eyes and was ready to be fed.
"Just like clockwork" he said with a light chuckle as he reached down and grabbed onto them one at a time and started to feed them, yes he could easily snap a finger and use his magic to feed them but he liked actually holding them when he did this, gives it a better...connection in his opinion. He did the burp thing for the kids before putting them back down to sleep before turning his head hearing a noise. He watched as Al started to twitch around on the bed and fidget, grunting and mumbling out as his face scrunched up.
Lucifer quickly moved over to the bed now.
"N.nno mom..mo....pl..please" he mumbled out as his breathing was picking up. Lucifer moved and got into the bed with him and moved his head onto his lap, not knowing much else to help he thought some and started to hum the song he always hears Al playing. He couldn't remember who sings it, just knows it's one of his old songs he listens to all the time. As he sat there humming the song he was running his hand through Alastors hair, gently dragging them along his scalp, a trick he picked up on how to calm him down when he was stressed or anxious on things, he must say it works very well. He watched as Al's irregular movements slowed down and his face slowly relaxed as he settled back into his slumber.
The day progressed and he never left Alastors side, he was currently holding the kids as he entertained them, it was almost 5 and time for dinner. He turned around as he was swaying and bouncing the kids and saw Alastor sitting up on the bed watching him.
"Ma...may I hold them?" He asked softly. Lucifer didn't even hesitate as he moved across the room and laid them down on the bed for Al to pick them up and play with them, Lucifer watched as he started to smile some at this.
"Lucifer...im never leaving you" he said out of the blue which confused him as he looked at Al now.
"I...know that babe?" He said in a questionable tone.
"Is...this related to what happened up there?" He asked now as Alastor eventually nodded his head.
"Can you talk to me?" He asked gently as he sat down beside him and put a hand on Al's leg.
"It..started off fine..she was happy to see me, I was happy to see her. She asked how I ended up in hell and I told her my story, what I did and why I did it and she tried her best to understand my reasons, she wasnt happy about it...and didn't understand why I kept doing it either but she tried. And I was happy with that but then..we started talking about the kids and she asked where the mother was..and I told her your the other parent, and she flipped out" he said softly with a sigh as he recalled it all from this morning.
"She..told me that I had brought shame to the family..for being gay, I had married a washed up loser..and had spoilt offsprings..she said I couldn't have been dealt a worse hand..and..the rage I felt building inside of me..I just snapped at her" he said as he started to buzz slightly thinking back to what was said.
"To call my family worthless and spoilt..I wasn't going to take it..and I yelled at her and she didn't like it..I..told her how I felt about you and them..and..she said I had threw myself in with your kind..and I wasn't her son anymore" he finished softly, Lucifer barely heard him at the end as looked at Al staring blankly at the kids he held onto and soon his smile returned.
"She doesn't know what she's missing does she" he said with a little playful tone as he bounced them around making them giggle, And Lucifer couldn't help but smile some as he watched this.
"I know you'd never leave us..and I'm sorry your mother did that to you"
He said with a soft smile.
"I know..but I needed you say it..I needed to get it off my shoulders" he said as he turned and looked at Lucifer before leaning in and kissing him.
"It still hurts...a lot, but I'm handling it..or going to handle it" he said after a moment and Lucifer moved his hand to his shoulder.
"You don't have to do this alone love"
"I know darling...but this is something that I need to do by myself, I hope you'll understand. I dont want to burden you with my family issues, I just need some time to..process this and find a way to cope with it.." To which lucifer nodded at this.
"I do love...just don't be afraid to come to me if you need some help, we are in this together" he said with a smile.
"Your love and my family is all I need in this world, and these cuties" he said as he went back to playing with them.
Lucifer smiled some at this, he wasn't a fool, he could see the pain in his expression and the fact that he was trying so hard to hide it for Lucifers sake right now, But he wasn't gonna push the subject. He was asked to not intervene and that's what he was going to do unless he felt it was absolutely necessary. His attention was brought elsewhere as he heard a knock on the bedroom door now. Lucifer moved and opened the door and smiled as he saw Charlie standing there. He smiled and opened his mouth to say something but it died in his throat as he took note of how she was looking down.
"Appleseed? What's wrong?" He asked gently before grabbing her hands when it hit him.
"Sweetie...why do you have Vaggies ring?" He asked as he looked up to see some tear stains running down the side of her face as she looked at him.
"I..I messed up dad"
