Birthday Boy

Sorry for the long wait, I was going to wait and work on this later when I felt better, but then found out it was Alastors actual birthday today, so decided to push through and try and get this done.

The hotel started it's morning off like normal as everyone made their way downstairs to start their days.
Lucifer was one of the first ones downstairs, starting his morning off earlier due to not sleeping all to much last night again, he had fixed thing's with Charlie, so that wasn't the problem, the problem this time lied with mixed dreams/nightmares and then the kids crying throughout the night. Rounding the corner and heading into the kitchen, he stopped quickly in surprise as he saw Angel moving around and setting stuff up on the counter.
"Angel?" Lucifer asked now which ended up startling Angel causing him to throw the utensils he was holding up in the air with a yelp before he spun around quickly to look at Lucifer.
"Ya ever here of announcing yourself..fuck" Angel said as he turned around and grabbed the utensils from the floor.
"What are you doing up at this time in the morning?" Lucifer asked now as he walked over to him.
"Well You and smiles are always cooking for everyone, and I know how to cook a little bit but I'm no expert at it, so thought I'd give it a shot. Just didn't think anyone would be up yet" he said while looking at everything he had set out with a approving nod.
"Well..if we are being honest I'm not the greatest of cooks either, I've mastered pancakces, and I can make some other things, but Al's the main cook" he said as he moved and sat down on the other side of the counter as Angel looked up at him.
"Seriously?
"I know. Shocking right...I always left that to....well, you know" he said as he looked down some before thinking.
"Perhaps you can ask Alastor to help you out?" Lucifer suggested now with a smile.
"You think he'd actually be up for it?"
"Im sure he wouldn't mind helping, and if not I'm sure I can convince him" Lucifer said with a bit of a smirk which made Angel laugh some.
"Ive been in the business long enough to know what that means"
"Anyways, what are you planning on making?" Lucifer asked now while changing the subject to something else.
"Well I was gonna just keep it simple, Eggs, bacon and sausage links, I was thinking about trying one of my mom's old recipes but decided to see how this goes first...kinda been a while since I've even been in the kitchen" Angel said with a small smile as he moved around and started getting everything in the pans and the stoves going. They both talked about random things and passed some time as the others wandered on in just as Angel was finishing up and setting the food out on plates for them to make their own plates. Husker walked over and smiled as he grabbed a plate and fixed it up.
"Smells awesome"
"I hope it taste just as well..come here" Husk was a little confused but leaned over the counter only to get a kiss.
"You get a little extra from the chef" Angel said with a smile as Husk chuckled some now and headed to the table. Lucifer perked up himself when he watched Al walk in with the kids, he smiled as he got up from his chair and moved over.
"There are my little cuties" he said as he used his fingers to move and play with them getting them all to giggle some before he looked up at Al.
"And there's my handsome lover" he said before Al leaned down and kissed him.
"Think Angel has something to ask you" Lucifer said as he motioned for the kids, Al nodded as he handed them over and moved towards Angel now.
"Lucifer said you had a question for me?" He asked now, making himself a plate while he was there.
"Yeah...uhmm..I was wondering if you'd be able to give me some lessons, help me out in the kitchen some?"
"Oh..is that all?" Alastor asked as he looked up at him.
"I wouldn't mind that Angel, I'll let you know when I'm cooking and everything and you can come and join me" he said as Angel smiled at this now.
"Thanks smiles" he replied back.
The rest of the day went rather quietly, lucifer having sent Alastor out to Rosie's to get some meat the hotel. He apologized to Rosie for not being over much recently but she understood with the kids, all she requested was to bring them with him next time so she could meet the little sucker's. But when Alastor walked back inside he was definitely not expecting what he saw.
"SURPRISE!" They all called out. Looking up he saw a banister hanging that said happy birthday and he couldn't stop his smile from growing.
"You all didn't have to do this" He said as he walked inside and shut the doors.
"You think we'd really skip your birthday?" Vaggie said now as she smiled at him.
"Dad texted us all this morning about it, even sent you to Rosie's to get you out of the hotel"
"I should've known..you don't even eat human meat, I'm the only one hear that does" he said with a light laugh as he went and dropped everything off in the fridge before coming back out.
"Alright sit down so we can get all this started"
"But what about dinner?"
"It will be handled later..just open your presents" Angel said with a smile as they sat around the lobby and gave Alastor his presents.
Charlie had gotten him some new books to read as she noticed he hasn't been reading as much, figuring it was due to the kids but hey, more books never hurt. Husker had reached out to some of his distiller friends gotten him some high end whisky so he could share some with Lucifer one night if he wanted to. Angel got him some earbuds to try out, trying to bring Al into the modern world of radios a little bit at a time. Lucifer had gotten him a new jacket that he'd probably never wear. Which he couldn't blame him for, he's worse the same outfit for the past couple centuries. Nifty had made him a new roach crown to wear which he smiled as he rubbed her head and put the crown on.
But there was one person left and she had something special planned that she got Lucifers help with.
"One final present dad" Vaggie said as she held out her phone. Alastor was confused as he grabbed it.
"She's waiting" she said with a soft smile. Putting the phone up to his ear now.
"Hello?" He asked, expecting Rosie or someone, but when he heard the voice come back he froze, his breath caught in his throat and the cup of tea dropped from his hand.
"Hello...who is this?" She asked out again.
"M..momma..."he asked now in a shaky tone as the others looked at him now, his eyes were filling with tears already threatening to spill.
".....My son is not a sinner, dont ever call this number again" he heard after a long pause.
"Momma please!, just listen to my voice!" He said as he sat up on the couch now.
"Its me...Alastor" he pleaded out desperately.
"Alastor.....my...Alastor...is that really you?" She asked with a shaky voice.
"Yes...yes it's me momma! Please..dont hang up"
"No...nononono...I won't baby I promise! My sweet baby boy.." Alastor couldn't stop the tears now as they was rolling freely down his face now.
"I..I've missed you..so much" he finally managed to get out past the lump forming in his throat.
"I have to baby...I've been waiting for you to arrive up here..what..why are you a sinner...what happened to my sweet baby?" She asked now.
"Thats..That's a story better for in person...I..I wanna come and see you mom..I need to see you" he said through a happy yet tight voice.
"Of course baby! You name the day and I'll be ready!" She said happily
"Oh...and happy birthday, to my sweet little boy" she said before she finally ended the call, Alastor had hard time speaking and didn't trust his mouth at the moment as he motioned Vaggie over, she walked over to grab the phone before he grabbed her hand and stood up before pulling her into hug and kissing the top of her head.
"I..I can't thank you enough for..this" he managed to get out as he held her close.
"I did have some help with it. And thought you'd like it"
"I loved it...thank you sweetheart" he said before letting go and looking at her.
"Of course dad"
Alastor sat back down and wiped his eyes some.
"Why'd you make me have to go and cry now on my birthday" he said with a light laugh. The rest of the night was filled with games and laughter as Lucifer and Angel did their best to handle the cooking, It was one of the best birthdays Al had in a long time, and it was all thanks to his friends and family.
