Damon's P.O.V

"You're pacing again," Kat sighed in annoyance. "Dani's a tough girl, and she's in good hands. If you need a distraction you can always play with Ivan." She nodded towards her three-year-old son who was surrounded by coloring books, paper, and crayons. The brown haired, blue eyed boy had finally found something that held his attention for more than five seconds.

"Look Mommy," he said holding up his most recent drawing. "I drew a wolf."

"It's beautiful, honey. My baby is a true artist. What do you think Damon?"

"Fantastic," I muttered.

Kat rolled her eyes. "I hope you show more appreciation towards your child."

"I have bigger things to worry about than a three-year-old's drawing." I ran a hand through my hair in frustration. When could I see my mate?

The door to pool room opened, and a maid walked in with a smile on her face. I raced past her before she could utter a word. I pushed open the doors of the infirmary and almost hit the doctor with it.

"Sorry, Doc," I apologized quickly. "So, how is she?"

"Why don't you go see. She's in bed eight."

I paused outside the curtains. I could see three outlines. I don't know why I was so nervous. I reached for the curtain, but someone beat me to it.

"What are you standing out there for?" Alyx asked. "Get your ass in here." She pulled me in by my shirt.

Dani laid on the bed, clearly exhausted, but there was a sparkle in her eye. The cause of that sparkle was the tiny bundle in her arms.

"Don't be shy," Alyx said giving me a slight shove. "Go meet your daughter."

The midwife picked up the tiny bundle and held her out for me to take. I took my daughter in my arms. Her creamy cheeks were slightly pink, and she had a full head of thin black hair. She let out a yawn and opened her eyes. They were hazel, just like Dani's.

"She's beautiful," I whispered. "Just like her mother."

"Have you thought of a name?" the midwife asked.

"What about Alyxandra?" Alyx offered.

"I need a name suited for a well mannered girl," Damon replied with a smirk.

"Watch yourself, Masen."

"I was thinking Lily Michelle Masen," Dani suggested.

"Lily Michelle Masen," I repeated. "A perfect name for our perfect daughter."

Dani's P.O.V

I pressed the pillow closer around my head, but it did nothing to block out the wails coming from the baby monitor.

"Damon," I groaned. I kicked his sleeping form. "The baby."

"It's your turn," he grumbled.

I dragged myself out of bed and groggily walked to the nursery next door.

"It's okay, Lily," I cooed. "Mama's here."

I picked her up and sat in the rocking chair. The gentle rocking motion usually put her to sleep in no time, but tonight she was being stubborn.

"Promise me you won't be this difficult when you're growing up," I said.

Lily looked at me with her big hazel eyes and gave me a tiny smile.

"Challenge accepted then."
