Damon's P.O.V

"Kiss her!"

My lips barely brushed hers before I felt it. My wolf howled with joy and begged to be let out so it could claim what was his.

Mate.

My wolf scratched and whined at its cage. The need to mark my mate was strong, and as much as I wanted to claim her, I managed to restrain myself. My wolf on the other hand was not going down without a fight. If humans thought they had it tough, try fighting off a hormonal wolf.

The bell rang, and I dashed from the auditorium. I had to get away. I had to clear my head. Could I be falling for a human?

What's wrong with that? Why so picky all of a sudden?

"She's a human. I'm not going through that again."

Is that all you got? You need to let things go. Don't you think she's beautiful?

"She's average."

Apparently not to all.

Suddenly the smell of vanilla and rose attacked my nostrils, but there was another that was made my wolf growl.

Male.

I rounded the corner to see Dani at her locker with Daniel. I didn't bother eavesdropping. All I could see was red. No one touches or even looks at what is mine.

So you do want her?

My wolf was just as persistent as Alyx. The smell of cinnamon suddenly hit me, and I sighed in frustration. Speak of the devil.

"Planning your next conquest already? It's only the second day, Damon."

I glared at the dirty blonde. "What the hell do you want?"

Alyx tended to tread on thin ice. Being the Beta's sister and mate of a Major earns her special privileges. She also knew the laws well enough to know what she can overstep and escape punishment.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but do I detect jealousy?"

"Jealous of what?"

"The new girl. Your "subtle" looks at her in Drama made it pretty clear on how you feel. Don't worry, your idiot pack members didn't even notice. If you plan to tell her I would wait till you knew her. Humans don't react well to that kind of information."

"You took it pretty well."

Anger flashed in her grey eyes. "I'm a quarter human, asshole. You know what, do what you want. Good luck, Alpha." She bowed low in mock respect before flipping me off and storming away.

I dismissed her pettiness and turned my attention back to Dani. She was gone as was her scent.

See what you did. You should have gone when you got the chance. She was right there, and you let her get away.

My wolf continued to bitch as I drove home, and I let him. A part of me wanted to tell him off, but another part agreed. Wasn't the purpose of not moving away was because the Goddess told me my mate would be here? She forgot the mention the part about my mate being a human. I was stuck between following tradition and my heart.

I punched my wall in frustration. How was a human making me nervous? I, Damon Masen, son of Xavier Masen and Alpha of the Crimson Sky pack, am dumfounded by a human.

"Confused much?"

My hand clenched into fists. "How did you get in, Alyx?"

"Well, this is the pack house, and I am a part of the pack. Plus, James doesn't know how to hide things well. Look, I didn't come here to bother you. I came because I'm curious to know why you are letting your feeling turn you into a wimp. Is it because of Reb-?"

"Don't say her name," I growled. My wolf snarled and snapped. I needed to blow off some steam before someone got hurt. "I'm going for a run."

I barely made it out the door before shifting into a large black wolf. I gave into my animal instincts and took off into the woods. The only sounds were my paws on the dirt, and my rapidly beating heart. I just needed to forget everything.

A sweet smell made me stop. I sniffed the air noticing that it led toward town. Curiosity got the better of me, and I followed. The scent became stronger, and my wolf was eager to find its source. I was led to a large house. I circled around it and froze.

Dani was lying on the porch swing with an open book beside her. A breeze blew her scent in my face, and I howled with desire.

"Who's there?" she called sitting up. Her eyes darted around the edge of the woods before resting on where I hid. "Is someone there?" She slowly moved toward my hiding place. For every step she took I moved back one.

"Dani, where are you?"

She turned toward the house. "Coming, Harriet." She glanced back at me before walking away.

I whined as she disappeared around the side of the house. Screw this. I'm going to make Dani my mate. Goddess give me strength.

Yeah, finally had a chance to update. I hate doing chapter by chapter with long periods in between, but school makes it difficult for me to update on a daily basis. Anyway, what do you think of Damon's P.O.V.? Do you want more or just leave in Dani's? Comment and Vote!
