For those who read, comment, and vote for my chapters and put up with my slow updates, let me just say that you guys are amazing!!! :):):):) Here's another chapter to say thanks! Enjoy!

I laid on the cool cement floor. It wasn't comfortable, but the coolness felt good against my burning skin. After Roman had broken every bone in my right hand, he turned to burning. Cigarette burns littered my torso and there were burns on the soles of my feet where he held the flame directly on my skin. Before he left he bound my ankles and wrists together and put a noose around my neck. They were then connected by a single cord of rope. If I moved my ankles away from my body, I risked strangling myself. I almost did at one point as I dozed off.

The door opened then closed signaling that Roman had returned. He stood in front of me and smirked.

"Morning Danielle. Did you sleep well?"

I remained silent.

"Would you like me to make you feel comfortable? All you have to do is say please."

When I didn't respond, he moved behind me. I felt a slight tug on the rope, and my eyes widened.

"Are you sure you don't want me to cut this rope?"

He must have grown tired of my silence as he pulled on the rope just enough to tighten around my throat, but enough where I could get still breathe.

"Are you giving up already? I came here to tell you some good news."

The noose around my neck tightened so I could no longer breathe. I couldn't die. Not like this.

"P...please," I gasped.

Oxygen instantly flooded my lungs and I gulped in down. My tense muscles screamed in protest as I lowered my legs and arms to the floor.

"See what manners can get you?" He sneered. "Your mate on the the other hand has none. It's rude to trespass, and my scouts found several Crimson Sky wolves sniffing around the border. I expect Damon to show up any time now. Once he does, I'll kill him nice and slowly. I'll even let you watch since I'm feeling generous. Then we'll see who's the strongest pack on the continent."

"What about me? What about Alyx?"

"I haven't decided yet. Jocelyn is going to need a new toy since your friend pissed her off by cutting off the mate connection. She enjoyed the whole killing two birds with one stone. He probably thinks she's dead since the sensation is the same to a dying mate. Then again, I do owe my soldiers a reward. Maybe you could show them a good time." I felt the blood drain from my face, and he laughed. "Who knows, maybe I'll keep you for myself. I'm beginning to see why Jocelyn enjoys torturing."

"Damon is going to stop you," I threatened. "If not him, then other will."

"Is he now?" Roman smirked. "Is he going to stop me from doing this?" He dug his heel into my right hand. I let out of a muffled scream and yanked my hand away.

"Can his pack stop me from doing this?" He kicked my side causing me to curl up in pain.

"Maybe I should just kill you now and hang your corpse from the rafters. Won't that be a wonderful surprise for Damon?"

Suddenly there was a howl. It was quickly followed by another and another until there was a chorus of howls.

"Looks like the calvary is here. Let the fun begin."

Damon's P.O.V

I peered through the trees to get a quick scope on the territory. A large grey building covered with overgrown vegetation stood in the middle with poorly built cabins surrounding it. There were two rings of wolves, one around the large building and another around the cabins. They just sat there staring into the trees. If they knew we were here, why weren't they making a move.

"Ah, the waiting game is a classic tactic."

"What are you doing here, old man?" I sighed.

Mr. Grey stood beside me with an amused look on his face.

"I may be old, but you're still a greenhorn. A decorated veteran is just what you need to see this operation is completed successfully."

"Full of yourself as always."

He smirked. "It comes with age, my boy."

I looked back at the rogues who still hadn't moved. "Explain this tactic."

"It's self explanatory really. Who is going to make the first move, you or the enemy? When you charge in, what do you plan to do?"

"Send in one wave to take out the guard. A second, smaller wave will be the one to rescue Dani and Alyx."

"What are you going to do should you encounter Issac or the Alpha?"

I didn't hesitate to respond. "I'm not taking any prisoners."

"Understood."

A large dark brown wolf with a mix of tan fur jogged over. He nodded signaling that everyone was in place.

"Send in the first wave."

The wolf howled before charging forward. Wolves from every direction charged into the territory. The rogues were ready and met my soldiers halfway.

"You know this is when soldiers say their final words," Mr. Grey said.

I chuckled. "I don't expect you to die today, old man."

"I didn't plan on it. I was talking about you." He shifted mid-stride and raced onto the bloody battlefield immediately taking down two of the rogues. The old man could be an ass, but he was a force to be reckoned with in battle.

The second ring charged into the battle, and that was the cue for the second wave to engage.

My bones popped and cracked as I shifted into wolf form. I threw back my head and howled. A chorus of howls replied and we barreled into battle.

Don't worry Dani. I'm coming.
