Herschel Greene's kitchen, early evening...

Lori Grimes stood in the kitchen, towel over her shoulder as she moved a pot off the stove. Sighing quietly before her husband quickly came up behind her, taking the heavy pot and putting it on the hot pad.

"Thanks," She gestured to him with the towel she pulled from her shoulder, he nodded and kissed her crown. Taking the pan and emptying the food into a serving bowl.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay," She nodded quickly, "I'm okay." She forced a tight lipped smile when Tucker and Beth padded down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"You need help?" Beth asked softly, she had been keeping her hands behind her back in order to hide the bandages. The chain connecting her and Tucker rattled as she did this.

Rick sighed contentedly at the pair, they both seemed to be in good spirits today.

"Why don't you two get some glasses of water for the table?" Lori smiled, Beth looked up to Tucker before she nodded happily. Walking the boy over to the cupboard where they fished out a few pitchers before then filling their arms up with glasses. "Hey don't carry those all at once, you'll spill." She warned, but the teenagers' paid her no mind, as teenagers do.

"I think Patricia squeezed a fresh batch of orange juice if you want to put that out." Maggie offered, placing her hand comfortingly on her sister's cheek. Beth nodded and dragged Tucker along with her to the dining room. The eldest Greene daughter looked upon the blonde's disapprovingly.

She didn't like Tucker Adams before, and now he's handcuffed himself to her sister in some valiant effort to save her? It's a load of bullshit is what it is, and some perverted agenda a teenage boy always wants.

"Here, let's set all these down then come back for the water." Tucker laughed, turns out trying to carry glasses of liquid while chained out wasn't an easy feat.

"Okay, okay," Beth giggled in tandem, looking down at the droplets of water on the floor. "And maybe grab a towel too."

"Yeah, a towel." The boy agreed, slowly pulling her back to the kitchen where Lori held out a white hand towel.

"Mother knows best, huh?" She spoke, extending the towel.

"Yes ma'am," Tuck smiled and Lori ruffled his hair as she walked past him. "Mother knows best."

"Damn straight she does." The brunette called back, exiting the kitchen. Tucker laughed softly at the interaction, Lori was so easy to get along with. She always knew what to say and when to tease versus nurture. She was the perfect mother.

"How long were you on the road before you got here?" Beth suddenly asked, looking up at the boy.

"Uhh, we were in Atlanta for a few weeks before we headed to the CDC. Between the CDC and here was only a week or so. I bet the whole time it's been a month? Maybe two since we evacuated." The boy thought out loud.
