The Greene Homestead, late afternoon...
"Hey, where have you been?" Tucker grabbed his sister's attention as she walked by. He had been allowed by Hershel to sit on the porch as long as he remained still, resting his injuries.
"Ran into town," Elle answered, making her way up to the porch. She took off her backpack before sitting down on the chair beside him. "Stocked up from the local pharmacy."
"Yeah, Beth came in and brought me some lunch... said you and Maggie had a little fight this morning." Tucker looked over at her.
"She wanted to run into town and leave me here, I told her that I'd be better in town at the pharmacy than here on the farm. Guess that offended her," Elle shrugged, pulling a pack of Skittles from her bag and gifting them to her brother.
"Beth said Maggie has always been stubborn, wanting to prove herself. Guess since her mom passed away she's taken a lot of the responsibilities."
"Since when are you and Beth best friends?"
"She's the only one in the house most of the time, she comes and talks to me and Carl all the time." Tucker spoke, quietly eating the candy his sister brought back for him. "We're almost the same age, you know."
"Well, don't get any ideas. She has a boyfriend," Elle nodded at Tuck, though he just gave her a cheeky smile.
"That's what I told Glenn about you and look what happened." Tucker flicked his sister in the neck, he had noticed the dark bruise right when she got close to him. "What else did you do in town?"
"Nothing, don't worry about it... and I did have a boyfriend. Clearly not any more since he's probably dead." Elle mumbled, her tone was sarcastic and Tuck knew she was joking with him.
"Never know, maybe Josh got better and they made it out of town." Tucker shrugged.
"Unlikely, I don't think he could shoot a gun if he wanted to."
"Joshua Barnes, a lover not a fighter."
"Say that again," Elle scoffed, rocking back on the chair before Rick stepped out of the house and onto the porch.
"Tuck? How you feeling today bud?"
"Just fine, still on bed rest though." The blonde boy rolled his eyes as he answered the policeman.
"You had an intense abdominal procedure and didn't wake up for over twelve hours. We thought you died... I think you can be on bedrest." His sister scoffed.
"I'm fine, maybe not starting varsity outfield ready, but I'm fine." Tucker argued though Rick just laughed at the siblings.
"You were a mean center fielder weren't you?"
"Lefty,"
"I knew I liked you, kid." Rick ruffled the blonde locks as he gazed out upon the farmland. "What is going on out there?"
