The Old Barn, late evening...

"Elle! Where are ya' kid?" Daryl hollered through the rolling farmland. He was careful where he stepped for in his arms was a plate of food and a cup of water. He didn't want to spill Elle's food, she was skinny enough. "Elle!" He shouted once more until his eyes fell on the blonde, leaned up against the barn.

"What?" She spoke, her eyes glued to the horizon.

"Brought y'some food."

"Not hungry,"

"Don't care," Daryl huffed, sitting down beside her. "Eat it."

"I'm not h—" Elle protested and tried to push the plate away.

"Eat it." He interrupted.

"Jesus Christ," The blonde rolled her eyes and began to pick at the food.

"Why didn't you come inside earlier?"

"Glenn's mad at me,"

"Don't care if he's mad at you, I'll kick his ass back to China." Daryl huffed, reaching over and pulling the chunk of squash Elle kept picking around off her plate.

"He's Korean." She corrected.

"Don't like squash?" The man ignored her earlier statement as he ate the gourd off her plate.

"No I don't,"

"Damn shame, your mother makes some good butternut squash."

"I know, Tuck and my dad love it. She used to make it all the time. I haven't told her I don't really like it." Elle sighed, drinking the whole glass of water. The icy liquid was a much needed distraction to the way her stomach felt. Too full and beginning to grow upset.

"You want another one?"

"I'm okay," She assured the archer that sat beside her. "Do you like me now?"

"What're you talking 'bout?" Daryl furrowed his brow at her query.

"At the beginning, you didn't like me. You said so all the time."

"At the beginning I didn't like anyone." Daryl shrugged, bumping shoulders with her. "But you're alright now. Tucker too, but I can't stand your aunt." Elle let out a real belly laugh, one that the man hadn't ever heard.

"It's okay, me either." The blonde agreed with a big grin.

"You done eatin'?"

"Mhm," She hummed.

"C'mon they need us inside." Daryl stood up from the ground and pulled Elle with him.

"What why?" She balanced the plate and cutlery in her hands while Daryl grabbed the cup.

"They need our vote, you know, on what we should do with the kid." He explained.

"What do you think?"
