Author's pov:
Abhimanyu chuckled softly, watching her reaction. He could see the nervousness in her eyes, the way her fingers gripped his collar so tightly.
His gaze dropped to her hands, still clutching onto him as if she were holding on for dear life.
He leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, letting his lips linger there for a moment. He knew if he went any further, he might not be able to stop himself—and the last thing he wanted was to make her uncomfortable.
"You’re holding me very tight," he teased, his voice laced with amusement.
Shivani blinked at him, confused, not understanding what he meant.
His eyes flickered down to where her hands were gripping his shirt. Following his gaze, she realized her fingers were still clenching his collar.
"Sorry…" she mumbled, quickly letting go.
But Abhimanyu? He liked it. He liked the way she held onto him, as if she belonged there—as if he belonged to her.
"You don’t need to apologize," he murmured, gently cupping her cheeks in his warm palms. "You have every right over me, Jaan."
His words sent a strange shiver down her spine, her heart hammering inside her chest.
"Did you feel uncomfortable when I kissed you?" he asked, his voice softer now, careful.
Shivani felt a fresh wave of shyness wash over her. She didn’t want to disappoint him, but she also didn’t know how to express what she was feeling. So, she simply nodded.
But Abhimanyu wasn’t satisfied.
"I need words, Jaan," he whispered, his thumb tracing slow circles over her warm, chubby cheeks.
Taking a deep breath, she hesitated for a second before whispering, "No… I didn’t feel uncomfortable."
And with that, a small but knowing smile curved Abhimanyu’s lips.
" Shivani.." he called her softly..
" Hmm.." she just hummed..
" Nothing.. Goodnight " he said and placed a kiss on her forehead..
He laid on his side while his hands were still wrapped around her waist.

.As the sun rose, its golden rays seeped through the curtains, spreading warmth across the room and waking up the chirping birds. The soft light touched Shivani’s face, stirring her from her slumber.
Instinctively, she snuggled closer into the warmth beside her, inhaling the familiar, comforting scent of Abhimanyu. But reality hit her like a bolt of lightning, and her eyes flew open in shock.
Wait… is she sleeping this close to her husband?!
Her breath hitched as she turned her gaze to the man beside her. Abhimanyu lay peacefully on his back, his face relaxed in deep sleep.
One of his arms was wrapped around her waist, while the other rested casually on his stomach.
Shivani gulped, her heart racing as she realized just how close they were. She had noticed his features before, but never like this—never this up close, where their breaths mingled, and there was barely any space between them.
