Chapter 61

Tears are rolling down her cheeks, and her eyes turned red and swollen. It is clearly visible that she has been crying for a long time.

He was shocked for a moment and rushed to her. He couldn't process the fact that she was crying and immediately cupped her face and asked slowly, 'Did someone hurt you?'

Here, Deepthi is trying her max to not break down in front of him. It became very difficult for her to control when he asked in a soothing way. Tears rolling from her eyes very intensively, yet she shook her head as no.

'Are you not feeling well?'

'I miss my- pare- parents,' she finally replied with a broken voice.

He hugged her and caressing her hair saying, 'I know how difficult it can be to someone who should live far away from her family. Being a loving daughter, they might have missed you a lot of times, of which they don't reveal it so that you might be hurt. It gives you a lot of guilt and pain for being unable to meet your parents whenever you want to and able to share with them when you feel overwhelmed. I myself missed my parents during my studies. I just don't want you to take the pain anymore; if you want to, you can share with me in the meantime to reduce your burden. If you really want to meet them right now, I will send you in my car; you can go and stay till you remember your work and can return again. I will make sure no one forces you. Okay, Deepu?'

This time she couldn't control her flow of tears, to which she sobbed very hard, hugging him back, and she felt that she needed that at such a moment when everything around her was very harsh. She felt someone was there to protect her and to share all her worries, and she felt very secure in his hug and wanted to cry more but never wanted to break the hug.

"Hey Deepu, I never knew that you missed your parents this much. I am sorry if it's because of me. Just don't cry; it breaks my heart like there is no tomorrow. You can stay as many days as you want; you can stay there by taking a long break. Your career will never be impacted, and I will take care of that. Just don't cry...it's giving me more pain than I ever took in these 7 years."

"I don't want to come here."

"I don't want to work here."

She said while breathing heavily.

Parthiv didn't understand for a moment.

"You don't want to work with me?"

She shook her head and continued,

"Why would it become an impossible scenario whenever I crave respect in my life?

For what sin am I paying my entire life?"

She started crying heavily by sliding down to her knees slowly while hugging him, to which he did the same and hugged her on his knees very tightly, and he didn't understand from what she said but guessed that something happened in the hospital. He hugged her very tightly till she felt a black and blurred vision.

He tried to sit her on his bed, to which she refused, and he made her drink the water, to which she came to her senses.

"I am sorry for getting close with you." She said while she bowed her head.

"So, you are not going to reveal what happened, right?"

She lifted her head and said with a faint smile, "I am okay. Nothing happened. I just became dramatic."

He came near to her and kissed her forehead, saying, "Go home and relax, Deepu. Don't worry about what has happened to you; I will make sure they pay for it. Just forget about everything and give yourself some time. I am there for you; one call will protect you at any cost. Please don't cry; I cannot sleep if I ever get a thought that you are crying."

"Nothing really happened, Parthiv; please don't do anything. I just—"

"I will drop you in my car. Let's go, and no more excuses, please..." With this, he took the car keys and went down, while she followed him.

In the entire ride, she slept like a baby, and he is glancing at her every now and then. He purposefully slowed down the speed so that her sleep doesn't get interrupted. While they reached, she was still sleeping, to which he didn't disturb her. Instead, he turned to her side and watched her, which made him calm and peaceful. After an hour, she finally woke up, to which he asked,

"They say the glow of our face after a deep cry hits real, but by looking at your face, it felt that your face finally got the surreal glow where there is no worry in your eyes, those swollen cheeks with some beauty marks, uff...
Tell me, Deepu, how many days were you bothering?"

"Parthiv Please, I request you to not make this issue bigger. Like nothing happened, as you know, being a junior, all we get is these complaints from everyone, like, 'Why didn't you complete this? Don't you know this and that?'
It's pretty common, and everyone will go through that phase. Just because of this recent workload, I felt overwhelmed. That's it; don't think seriously about this, Parthiv."

"Even if it's pretty common, I don't think that whatever happened with you is not that common. By the pain you took while crying, I clearly understand that something more has happened with you, and whatever the reason is,
If it hurts you.....I will never spare that, and I swear."

Her face turned annoyed and regretful, to which he smiled gently by kissing her temple, saying,

"Don't worry, Deepu; I will make sure you don't get dragged into this. All I need from you is to relax your mind a little bit and sleep peacefully. You never deserve to cry, and please don't cry... If I ever sense that you might be feeling low, I can't sleep for real. So considering my well-being, why don't you focus on yourself, hmmm??"

He asked a bit dramatically, to which she smiled and nodded before getting down from the car.
