"Do you even know how my world felt when you were here?

It feels so void, and I've been living in autopilot mode. At a certain point, I lost the words to express, but the tears I was left with, how badly I miss your presence.

Fighting in your battles, which I couldn't help but watch you from the other side of the door, made me feel so helpless."

She closed her eyes as her tears flowed freely, not because of the wounds that tied her outside, but the scars that left her raw inside. He wiped them gently and shushed her when she was about to speak, as it was bringing difficulty around her jaw and cheeks.

"You don't try to speak now, as the wounds were a bit deep, it takes time to recover. In the meantime, relax, eat, and sleep peacefully, and leave the rest to me. I've got a few questions to ask, not now, at least. I want you to ignore everything that happened and try to distract yourself as best as possible.

I know it's easier said than done. Trust me, I have been through the same phase, and that's what worked for me. Try to clear your mind from the shock or the scene that's flashing before your eyes. Never tense about that incident by reminding it, I've got your back, and
I will be there to catch you when you fall."

With tear-filled eyes, she nodded slowly. He gently placed his forehead against hers,

"Never knew my prayers would do wonders, thank God."

It's been almost a month, and she can now move her right side slightly after undergoing a couple of minor surgeries in the previous week. Parthiv tried to be available as best as he could. Kartheeka's and Deepthi's families are taking care of her, which helps him to focus more on the case.

P: "Hey, Kartheeka. Finally, that bastard driver was caught."

K: "That's great, I thought he fled, leaving the city."

P: "He was caught in another state, after misleading the existing evidence, faking his identity, which took almost a month to catch him."

K: "Oh god, what a rogue he is."

P: "Yep, don't reveal this to anyone as this case was taken by someone in my close connections, and for security reasons, I am not revealing this to anyone, doubting that someone is spying for them. Please unders-"

K: "Of course, you don't need to repeat this. Don't you think I can stay silent for my friend's well-being?"

P: "Of course....how's she now? Ate and took the medicines? Is she sleeping?"

K: "Ah- I came to the hospital, Parthiv, as it has been more than 1 month. Don't worry, our families were taking great care and I am checking about her time to time. Forgot to ask you, did her mobile help in any way?"

P: "Well, it does. I came to know a lot of shocking truths, will tell you later. Please check on her now and then. I have been busy with this tension and worrying about her condition. I will come by tonight."

K: "Okay, I will. Try to come a bit early as she was asking about you, and I couldn't think up more excuses apart from her mobile being missing, I somehow managed to lie to her that it was stolen."

P: "Okay, I will talk to her. Please try to be with her as early as you can."

It's almost 7 PM, and Kartheeka came to stay with her, and her mother took Deepthi's parents to the home while Rahul went out for a while.

D: "How's your day?"

K: "As usual. Since I went after a long time, I felt a bit strange, but somehow managed to deal with others' help."

D: "Okay, where's Parthiv? It's been 3 days since I saw him last. Was he busy with his work?"
