An RPG based on the Mega Man X subseries.
Okay, let me talk about this one, because some may see this as a bit too high.
For one, I love Mega Man and Mega Man X, even if the series is both consistent and inconsistent at the same time.
You see, while the games within their own series have the same exact gameplay and skeleton, everything around them in terms of mechanics and design vary wildly.
While I would go in-depth about the two series here, I'll save that for each of their respective collections later on.
Let's just say that I prefer Mega Man X, even if its highs are higher than Classic, but have lows that are way lower.
They are games I can just sit down and complete in one sitting and find satisfaction in the platforming, challenge, music, and graphics, which have aged surprisingly well...most of the time.
However, this game is quite forgotten and is definitely an oddball in the entire series.
For one, it's an RPG, which already will tilt some people off for its time investment, even if Command Mission's length is on the shorter side.
Besides that, it's got its fair share of problems.
For one, the story is incredibly stupid.
If you are here for character development for most of the cast or a compelling antagonist, you'll be sorely disappointed.
Besides maybe Massimo, nothing in the plot is well-realized at all. Even if I prefer gameplay over plot, some may find issue with this.
And so, let me disclose this to you, and tell me what your conclusion is.
You see, one of your party members is a Reploid named Spider. He's pretty cool I suppose, with his attacks surrounding playing cards.
Don't worry, we'll also get to another game using cards much later on...
Okay, he dies suddenly in a sacrifice early in the game.
Alright, fine.
However, X and Zero are fighting against the Maverick threat for a Reploid named Colonel Redips, a leader of the Maverick Hunters, who turns out to be evil after the supposed villain, the Maverick Epsilon, is taken out as well.

Enough said.
Doesn't help that this game is considered non-canon. Big oof...
Also, the environments are...not very good.
Imagine bland facilities with minimal contrast and color, and you have this game's levels.
You see, this game has a mission-based structure in which you go through each stage into a facility to get to the end to fight a boss.
Like the X games.
