A 3D reboot of the Prince of Persia series.
Now, this is a classic game, even if I never got into it as much as many others did, but I can't deny that it is a truly great game.
As the Prince, you use the Sands of Time in this mystical Dagger to rewind time itself in a #d platformer where you must use acrobatics to traverse the linear levels in this world.
Games like this feel like a precursor to something like Assassin's Creed if that makes any sense.
Combat is alright, but it is in the platforming where everything comes together.
A puzzle in itself, you use the Dagger to rewind time if you make a mistake and are about to die from a pit or some deadly trap in an ingenious game mechanic, which also encourages you to engage in the combat to get more charges from fallen enemies.
The original Prince of Persia is even hidden in the game to play once you unlock it.
This is a game I can't really say anything bad about, other than that I feel less attached to it than I should.
And if we really want to get nitpicky, the game is multiplatform even if it is inexpensive, so it is debatable if this is the version to get or not.
Still, from an era of Ubisoft where they didn't constantly shoot themselves in the foot, this is a definitely a classic from their catalogue.
