These are the games are truly great, games that are must buys for anybody willing to fill their initial library. The ones in this tier have a greater balance of its qualities compared to those in the lower one, or have such outstanding traits, that it carries the whole game close, but not close enough to the best of the best.
The A Tier contains the best multiplayer games and some of the best, but not the highest single-player fares. These are closer to perfect, but have one issue or another to hold them back. The most complex games by far that have people coming back for more to feast on its contents. Not a whole lot of surprises, although the placement of some may ruffle some feathers. Only two licensed games have made to this tier before disappearing, and some seriously special hidden gems here.
If you have the money and time, one should purchase these, but are just shy of being called absolute classics. These have great design all around, but with some questionable decisions and something that caught them before the upper echelon, they are not fully the best they could when shipped. We'll see some killer apps, along with many that haven't left the system at all.
Not as long as the B Tier, but then again, only the best games on the system are beyond this point.
