"Mimi?" He asked as I looked away from the stove looking down at him.
"What boy? You see me cooking." Well trying too.we were having family dinner Terry stepped out to go get some more ingredients and trusted me the most to watch the food.
"But you can't cook Mimi."He said smiling as if it was funny as I mugged him.
"What you want lil nigga?"I said rolling my eyes giving him my full attention.
"Aunt Denise took the tv from me."He said twirling back and forth as he told. Why can't lil kids be still?
"You know what they do to Snitches?"I told him.
"But it's aunt Denise. She said she's been to jail before. I've never been there."He said crossing his arms as I chuckled.
"And you never will. Come on,"I said as we walked into the living room.
"Denise,"I called out as Julian stood infront of me smiling.
"Yeah pat?"She said focused on the tv.
"You took the tv from my baby?"I asked as she looked at me in disbelief.
"What? Now- how?" She said squinting at him as he laughed. "I payed him in candy for this tv Pat. Ion know what he told you or what game he running but I get two hours." She said as I looked down at him.
"Is that true?"I said as he paused putting his hand on his chin like he was thinking. "Mmm no."He said as I shrugged looking at Denise.
"You gotta go. Kids get priority over fully grown adults." I said as she smacked her teeth.
"I want my candy back."Denise said getting up as juju shook his head. "No refunds."He said as I laughed giving him a high five walking back in the kitchen as she followed.
"He too slick. You sure he three?" She asked as u took the knife and placed it in the sink.
"You was in the driveway when Janelle gave birth."I said
"Yeah the night you ran Brandon over. You know you the reason we didn't make it to the hospital."She pointed out.
"It worked out in our favor. You wasn't gone pay that hospital bill."I said as she laughed getting a water out of the fridge.
"That baby got two white grandparents I guarantee they would've loved to handle that."she said as I nodded in agreement before I heard the door open.
"Ma! Julian jumping on your coach!"
"Nun uhn! He's lying!" I heard again before they started going back and forth.
"Juju get yo bad ass off my damn couch before I whoop yo' ass! And JuneBug stop allat damn snitching!" I yelled back as the commotion died down.
"Hey auntie, hey ma,"I heard as the back door opened and Janelle walked in.
"Finally somebody who can cook, help your momma before she fuck up and we have to order take out."Denise said
