Lisa POV
"Ms. Lisa is everything alright? Your up late is something wrong? Did the staff not set the bed comfortably to your liking?" Our— well I guess mines now— maid Ms. Janice said as I shook my head.
" No thank you Ms. Janice, I'm fine." I smiled slightly looking at the view from our back yard, you could see damn near the whole city of LA.
"Are you sure? I've noticed you haven't been getting much sled since you and Ms. Y/n—
"Ms. Janice I don't want to talk about that right now. I appreciate you so much but you should really get home now instead of worrying about little ole me. Surely your family must miss you?" I said turning towards her as she shook her head smiling.
" Oh no ma'am, unfortunately nobodies waiting up on me. My husband passed last year." She said as I frowned.
" I'm so sorry Ms.Janice I didn't know ..." I said
" Oh it's fine child we knew it was only a matter of time. He left happily and smiling in his sleep. He wasn't alone nor afraid." She said as I realized something.
"You've never taken a day off. Why didn't you tell me? I would've understood. You've worked for us a long time."I asked sadly.
"Baby me and Charles were married 32 long years. Plus Y/n figured out somehow and blessed me so much so I was able to bury my husband stress free. Not to mention over the years, she treats all of us employees so greatly. I couldn't have asked for a better boss. You see me and my husband met in this line of work and when Charles hurt his self he couldn't step up anymore so I had to, and so I did. I became the breadwinner and whilst I worked for Ms. Y/n my car was payed of in 6 months and my house in 11 god knows me and my Charles lived comfortably." She paused.
"I plan to retire this year and travel the world while My baby watches over me. Graced I have the means to do so."she said
" You did that for him?"I said surprised.
"Ms.Lisa when you love someone there is no sacrifice you won't make no matter how big or small. And plus I knew how much my Charles had done for me, and would continue to do for me if he could in a heartbeat. Nothing I ever did could've topped all of the hard work he put in."She said making me think differently and deeper as I looked back out into the distance.
"I need to find y/n..." I said lowly.
" yes, you do." Ms. Janice said
I gotta get my baby back.

Y/n POV
"Man, what you doing here?"I said shaking my head as I put the trash bag in the garbage.
"I remembered you said you volunteer for people at the community center every Friday. I went there and they told me were you'd be."She said following me as I went back to the garden grabbing all the things, Jurnee told me to throw away. I realized I didn't have a trash back so I looked around for it seeing it was behind her.
"Scuse me."I said politely moving her out my way.
"Y/n."
I ignored her.
"Y/n I love you and I'm sorry."She said making me scuff.
"Lisa I'm working. Can you please go home, to your house, with all your necessities, that's not in my tax bracket?"I said to be petty as she swallowed.
"Y/n I didn't mean it like that. I just meant that that's just how I grew up, so I believe that that's what I should live as well."She said making me look at her.
"You still ain't learnt did you? You feel that way then get your daddy to pay for that shit. I'm not him. I was gone be your wife but I'm starting to believe that wouldn't have been a good idea in the first place. Thank you for helping me see the light."I said pushing past her wielding the bags to the trash.
"Okay I'm saying the wrong things. That's not what I meant either. I want this marriage and I'll take whatever comes with it. Even if it means taking away a car, or two- you know what just one."She said making me chuckle bitterly.
"Man I don't even know who I'm talking to right now."I said shaking my head going to speak before jurnee came outside.
"Everything alright y/n?" She said as I smiled.
"The fuck?"Lisa said
"Yeah I'm good. Thank you Ms.Smollet."I said as she walked down the steps before coming towards me and Lisa.
"I brought you some water I know it must be hot out here."She said going to hand me the water as Lisa stopped me.
"It's warm, she's fine."Lisa said
"And who must you be?"Jurnee asked.
"Her wife."
"Ex- fiancé."I coughed. Damn I really needed that water.
"Well nice to meet you. I'm Jurnee."She said holding her hand out as Lisa looked at it.
"Wish I could say the same."She mumbled as Jurnee took her hand away and I looked at her shaking my head.
"Anyways, y/n I made some food if your hungry."She said
"Nah, she good."Lisa said
"Don't mind her Jurnee I'll finish up and be right in."I said as she nodded before walking away gracefully.
"So you gone play in my face like that?"Lisa said
"Lisa, you ain't even want me. It took you two weeks to TRY to come to your senses and you still can't see the bigger picture. And I'm not waiting around to help you figure it out. So when as nice women offers me food, imma eat it. You have a good day though, enjoy the house."I said going to walk away.
"What about you things, are you not going to come back and get them?"
"You can keep em, dress up whatever new nigga you find to fit your aesthetic."I said shrugging as she frowned before I turned away.
Maybe I was being a little harsh, I did love her, but I know my worth. And I wasn't going to stick around until she found my price tag.
