Y/n POV

I was sitting at the table headphones on while eating my cereal when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up to see my mother.

"What'd I tell you about them headphones? Especially while eating. You wouldn't know when dangers coming cause your head in that phone all the time." She preached as I listened before she sighed pausing quickly.

"Now as I was saying, your sister are here." She sisd as I looked behind me before smiling.

"Hi, y/nnn," Beyoncé dragged out making me put my head down, blushing shyly. She motioned to see if she could hug me as I nodded.

Solange came up to me next doing the same. "What you listening to baby?" She asked as I showed her my phone, she chuckled immediately.

"You so gay." She said as I rolled my eyes. I was listening to Worst Behavior- KWN ft Kehlani.

"Leave my baby alone." Mama said as Solange put her hand up.

"What you been doing? I missed you," Beyoncé asked

"Writing." I whispered softly as she smiled before responding, "the fans want you to come on tour with me in a few months. Everybody wanna know what y/n doing? Where she at?" Beyoncé said

"That's the last place she wanna be." Solange said plopping a grape in her mouth.

"It don't hurt to ask." Beyoncé shrugged as I shook my head.

"No." I said lowly as she frowned. "Even Rumi wanna come this time." She said thinking meaning my mini bestie would persuade me to change my mind.

"So?"

The word comes out low, barely louder than my breath, but it lands.

Solange bursts out laughing, nearly choking on the grape in her mouth. Beyoncé looks between us, eyebrow raised, then lets out a soft laugh of her own.

"Okay," Beyoncé says, hands up. "Fair."

Mama Tina shakes her head, but there's a smile tugging at her lips. "Y'all gone stress me out before noon."

I put my headphones back on, the world dulling just enough to feel manageable again. The cereal's gone soggy, but I eat it anyway. Texture be damned-I don't want to deal with questions.

After a few minutes, the noise of conversation fades into background hum. Beyoncé and Solange are talking to Mama about something I don't care to track. I open my iPad, fingers hovering for a moment before typing.
