"Where are we going?" I asked squeezing her thigh as she drove.
"Here." She said pulling in stopping.
"Um babygirl... here looks like nowhere." I said scratching my head .
"It's where I go to clear my head sometime. It's a small stream down there. I just need to breathe for a second."Shr said lowly put the head in her hands as I grabbed one.
"I know... and I understand. I'm sorry that I didn't be more careful. We wouldn't be going through this if it wasn't for me ." I said as the guilt finally took over.
" y/n it's not your fault it's ours. That's what comes with what we did. I- I'm just scared... what if-
"No. We're not going to think about what ifs it'll drive us crazy. And to be honest I'm scared too. I've never even been around a baby too long before. And crying? Mannnnn ion know how we gone do it."I said throwing myself back into the seat shaking my head as she chuckled.
"You're dramatic."She said caressing my ears, something she always did to self soothe.
"Dramatic? Me? After we just ran away? Oh okay I'm dramatic."I said
"See when you put it like that..."She said as I nodded.
"Mhmm yep."I said as we laughed.
"Thank you for being here with me."She said after our laughter died down.
"Of course. I love you..."I said lowly
"I love you more."she said kissing me as we pulled away hearing a knock. I saw a lady that kinda looked like her as she rolled down the window.
"So we running away now?"the woman said
"Ashley-
Ohhhh her sister.
"I don't want to hear it. Cut this car off and both of y'all come on. Y'all's parents are worried sick."She said
"My dads are at her house?"I said rubbing the back of my neck as we got out and Janelle gave me my kids.
"Yes, and I don't think their okay wit you guys sneaking away to god knows where."She said as we got into her car. So we was just gone leave mines? I guess my dads would come back and get it.
"Now can y'all please explain to me why you both ran away? Janelle why didn't you just come to me? You know I wouldn't have judged you for being gay."She said
"Because I saw how they reacted when you told them. And you're grown you can walk away. I stay with them I can't just go somewhere else. I wouldn't be able to handle it if they wouldn't accept me." Janelle said as I just listened looking out the window as her sister sighed.
"Okay I understand that. But running away from your fears doesn't make it better. That's not an excuse baby sis."She said as I looked at Janelle who looked like she was fighting in her mind to get her words out. I decided to do it for her.
"That's not the only reason we ran away."I said slowly grabbing her hand.
"Then what?"Ashley said
"Janelle's pregnant."I said
"What?!" Her sister said in disbelief. "Are y'all joking or?"She said as I shook my head.
"No that's the real reason we left."I said
"But two women-
"I'm intersex."I said
"Oh. Um- Janelle are you sure?"She said as I could tell she was not trying to react in a way that would make Janelle think she was mad.
"I took three test."She said
"Ok I'll make you an appointment. You're telling them tonight. And I'm not mad but I'm disappointed. That's something you also could have came to me about. Especially when you were thinking about having sex. That's a big step to take. For you too y/n. And no matter how in love you both are there are measures to it. That's exactly why we tell you all not too rush it. Now you're going to have to grow up."Ashley said
"Do you think they'll be mad?"janelle asked as Ashley sighed again.
"I don't know but we'll cross that bridge when we get there."She said as Janelle laid her head on my shoulder as we drove back.
