Boing!
A basketball hit the floor in the school hallway and bounced for a little while before Grayer grabbed it.
He tossed it back at Summer in one swift motion.
She smiled, catching it mid air.
"Watch and learn." Summer bragged, rolling the brown ball in her hands before tossing it towards Grayer's open locker.
She narrowly missed and it struck Grayer's locker door, falling to the floor with a thud.
Grayer laughed tossing the ball back at her.
A wonderful way to dispel Monday morning grump before setting off to class, wasn't it?
"Try again, with a less lousy aim this time."Grayer advised. There was a teasing glint in his eyes.
Summer rolled her eyes and received the ball in her arms.
She had to focus, she thought, striking the ball repeatedly against the floor.
Winter drew close to them, a cup of coffee in her hand, her head buried in her phone.
She walked right into Summer's aim as the ball flew towards the open locker.
With great force, the ball hit the cup in Winter's hands and it tipped over, pouring over her white school shirt.
"Argh!" Winter yelped, letting go of the coffee cup. It dropped to the floor, the remaining coffee wetting the floor.
Summer shrugged, "It was an accident."
Winter better watch where she was walking next time.
"Sorry." Grayer apologized in her stead, offering her his bandana.
Winter unsuccessfully tried to mop it off with difficultly. The brown coffee splodge spread to other parts of the shirt. It remained visible and disturbing on her attire.
"An accident! I've got hot scalding coffee soaking through my fucking shirt and all you can mutter is that! Unbelievable!" Winter lashed, looking up from her shirt stain.
Summer shook her head, why was Winter being a dramatic scheming liar. There was no steam coming from that cup when it tipped over.
Plus, Winter's reaction would have been golden if hot coffee was to scald her skin.
Summer looked at Winter, unfazed, "Anything else?"
"A sorry would have sufficed from any sane human!" Winter retorted.
Summer let out a sigh, choosing to ignore Winter's ending remark. Considering it was from a girl whose panties were less tacky than her IQ, it was smart to let it slide.
"I don't say stuff I don't mean." Summer announced.
"You're such an unmannered prude!" Winter scoffed.
"Whoa,Winter..." Grayer stepped in.
"She keeps on putting me down!" Winter complained, staring at Grayer with wet eyes.
"It was an accident..." Grayer started to explain.
The sound of a ball struck against the floor turned their attention to Summer.
"Get the fuck out of my way or I'm aiming the ball at you face. I'm not missing this time!" Summer seethed, grabbing the ball in her hands.
She shot Winter an aggressive look, her blood simmering.
Winter clenched her fists and stepped forward, a bold move to imply she wasn't intimated.
"C'mon. You wouldn't dare!" She challenged.
