Love ,Mhaya.
Dringgg!
The doorbell echoed through the grand mansion.
Summer stepped back hearing approaching footsteps from inside of the house.
She brushed an imaginary lint off the shorts of her romper. It was a beautiful yellow color with little white daffodils littered in the background.
Her hair was in a ponytail and there was no makeup but lipstick and mascara on her face. She topped her attire off with some white Nike sneakers, you could never go wrong with that.
The door slid open and a well put together young woman stared up at her. Her hair was in a French bun and she was clad in a knee length dress topped off with a woolen cardigan.
"Hello, you must be Summer. Welcome." She exclaimed with a smile, politely stepping back to let Summer in.
Summer at once recognized her as Lacey, Asher's older sister who studied law at some Ivy League. It reflected in her polished mannerisms.
He had mentioned her over conversation a couple of times, Summer remembered.
"Thank you." Summer smiled stepping into the house.
Summer offered the bottle of wine in her hands to Lacey, "I thought some wine would go well with dinner."
"That's so sweet of you." Lacey replied receiving it. "You look even more gorgeous in person, might I add." She complimented Summer.
"That means a lot coming from you, Asher says a lot about you too." Summer confessed.
"I know right! I'm his favorite sibling!" Lacey laughed.
"It's nice to finally meet you." Summer smiled.
"Same here." Lacey acknowledged.
The rattling of pans and slamming of an oven door whipped their attention to the kitchen area.
"Mum's call for help in the kitchen." Lacey explained.
"You can go on up to Asher, Dad's probably somewhere in his office. Dinner will be ready in a few." She said.
"Thanks." Summer nodded ascending up the flight of stairs.
She took the left wing at the top of the stairs, stopping at the first door she was met. She gave a soft tap at the oak brown door.
Hope the parents aren't scaring the crap out of ya!
A text shot up on Summer's iPhone.
She scanned through it and typed back a quick reply to St.Williams.
Nope
So far it's going on great!
It was her first official dinner date with her boyfriend's family and her nerves had been all over the place. Grayer had told her to chill and St.Williams tried to laugh her through it.It was thoughtful of St.Williams to follow up on it, Summer thought.
Grayer on the other hand hadn't texted her much tonight, he seemed uninterested in her love life for some reason --which Summer found kind of weird because he'd usually just tease the crap out of her too.
Maybe he was caught up with his own love life, so she shrugged it off.
After all, Grayer was one of the school's most sought after boys. He was probably stuck on trying to decide which girl to bang tonight-- they were a throng at his feet.
