Continued...
The car ride was quiet for a while as Summer processed her thoughts.
She absentmindedly slid her phone in her skirt pocket.
It was Grayer she kissed last night?
Her mind reeled. The memories mildly flashed in her mind.
Her hand on his chest, tangled in his hair, their lips together...
Something unfamiliar surged through her and she shook her head.
The rumors about Grayer being a good kisser suddenly made sense.
Summer shrugged it off, pushing it to the farthest part of her mind as quickly as she had thought it.
She hadn't even realized they had arrived at school until Asher pulled the passenger door open for her, urging her to step out.
"Thanks." Summer took his hand and stepped out of the car.
Asher laced his fingers with hers as they doubled their steps towards the school open doors.
"Shoot!'' Summer breathed.
Asher looked up at her,in quiet concern.
"I left my phone in the car, I'll go grab it quickly." She announced, scurrying off.
Asher nodded in understanding, watching her leave as he leaned against the railings erected beside the stairs leading to the school doors.
"Where the fuck are you!' Summer cussed as she rummaged through the car for her phone.
Then she saw the silver gleam of her silver plated iPhone case lodged in between the car seat.
It had probably fallen out of her pocket when she was stepping out of the car.
She retrieved it and shut the car door, realizing a car pulling over in the empty designated parking space on their lane.
Grayer quickly killed the ignition in his car and stepped out.
He quickened his pace and soon caught up with Summer.
"Summer!" He called out, his hand wrapping around her bicep.
She slowly turned around to meet his eye, something foreign overpowering her.
A certain heaviness hung in the air, anyone could feel it.
Summer shot a hard look at Grayer's hand on her bicep.
"Sorry." He quickly peeled his palms from her arm.
"Can we talk, like for a few minutes?" Grayer desperately begged.
Then,Summer actually looked at him long enough to notice his burst lip and bruised face.
If you looked at him well enough, you could see there was more to his eyes then it let out.
His blue orbs held a certain glint in it,as if the world was eating him up.
Grayer was sad and Summer's heart hurt she wasn't close to him that moment to pry it out of him,
to tell him it would be okay.Whatever it was.
Regardless,he had probably just got into a fight with one of the boys from their rival school. They could get violent when the Mount Crest sports team won tournaments they competed at.
Maybe,Summer was thinking too much of it. So,she shrugged it off.
"I'm giving you two minutes, max!" Summer said placing her arms across her chest. She tactfully glanced at her wristwatch.
