An Uber pulled over in front of Asher's house. Summer pushed the door open, stepping out. She put Asher's arm around her neck and pulled him up. He rested his weight on her, droning something incoherent.
Summer slowly but steadily made her way to the door and gave a soft tap.
The house was silent.
"Ash,do you have a spare key?" She asked.
Asher threw out a finger, pointing at something. Summer traced the direction of his hand to some flower pots on the porch. She sighed, propping him against a wall then went for the key. She found it beneath the smallest plant pot.
She slid the key in and the door sprung open. She supported Asher into the house, tripping on something in the doorway.
Her hands groped for the light switch, the foyer became illuminated, revealing a couple of parking boxes littered on the floor.
Maybe Lacey was moving back to school, she shrugged it off, hearing approaching footsteps.
Summer sighed in relief on realizing it was Lacey. She raised a brow up in surprise, hurrying down the stairs to take her brother in her arms.
"I'm sorry I'm bringing him home in this state..." Summer started.
"No,no. It's okay. I'll take care of him. It's late, you can go home." Lacey waved it off.
"Really?" Summer asked, her eyes laced with unshed tears. The events of the evening had left her overstimulated and worn out.
Lacey nodded and Summer muttered a thank you, closing the door softly behind her.
Lacey helped her brother upstairs and put him to bed, relieved that their parents had not been the ones to wake up seeing their perfect son drunk off his head.
The family was under a lot of stress lately with moving and everything going on.They wouldn't need extra burden weighing them down. She would have to speak to her brother before he slipped up again.
Sunlight crept in through the gaps of the  curtains, illuminating Asher's dimly lit room. He stirred in his sleep, the sun rays hitting his face.
He let out a groan, slowly turning to the other side, away from the burning rays.

His iPhone chimed with new messages, reminding him it was a weekday and he had to get ready for school.
He reached for his nightstand and grabbed the phone, squinting his eyes to check what the time was.
An anonymous blog post flooding his home screen made him shoot up from bed. His breath hitched scanning through the post. His heart thumped loudly in his chest.
