The days rolled by, drawing into  weeks.Summer had managed to live through it,her pain had lessened considerably since the break up happened almost two weeks ago.

It was like her body had automatically developed its own strategy to help her cope with it ; She went to school barely a few minutes before classes started, munched her  lunch in the silence of the classroom -- sometimes Courtney or St. Williams sat with her.
Then was the first person to rush out of the school doors as soon as the bell rang signally home time.

It worked, considering she was able to avoid Grayer and put Asher off whenever they ran into each other. They both seemed to have a lot to say to her,she didn't want to listen. She wanted to heal and process her emotions firsthand.

When she had free time on her hands, she spent it in the library. That was where she was settled today, trying to wrap up with their literature assignment, sipping some juice from her Stanley cup.

It had slowly become a part of her  routine, hiding from her troubles. It was working, she was pulling through like Taylor mentioned.

How long could it last though, because eventually, reality would catch up with her.

On the other side of the school, the basketball team coach had just called for a joint meeting with the cheer squad. Their championship game was a few days away and he had to make some important announcements.

Practice was over, the jocks rested against the gym walls, the rest sat on the floor catching their breath, their ripped bodies glistening with sweat.

The cheerleaders occupied the bleachers, stretching their limbs and fixing their hair amidst chatter.

They'd just rounded up with practice and gossiped about the news the coach had to share.

Minutes later,Coach Riley emerged from his office, his clipboard stuck under his arm. Making no use of the whistle dangling around his neck,he clapped his hands together, drawing the attention of the teams in the gym.

"Alright, round up!" He called out, immediately bringing the teams to assemble before him on the bleachers.

He scanned through their curious faces, enjoying the silence awaiting to hear what he had to say.

"As you all know, the championship game is coming up this Friday. I believe you're all putting in your best foot getting ready. To appreciate your efforts, the school board has brought together an interesting package to keep you in the spirit!"

"Brandon, anything you'd like to share with the rest of the team?" Coach Riley paused to stroke his chin.

He shot a dark look at Brandon, he'd caught him making conversation during his speech.

Brandon shook his head.

"Didn't think so."  He continued. "The school has decided to fund the post-win celebration, all costs will be taken care off .The sprinting foxes are bringing the trophy home!"

A collective cheer rang out within the team in support.

"Your sports uniforms will be rebranded in addition to new and improved training gear, it'll all be replaced, after the win of course." Coach Riley grinned dramatically, scanning their faces.

"Now here's a deal breaker, what's a fox without showing how sly it can get? In view of this, you're having a Hoodie Hunt. A little game to keep your spirits alive for the big win ahead."

"Finally coach, the interesting part!" St. Williams' yelled from his position at the top of the bleachers.

Excited chatter and giggles burst out.The coach waited for them to quieten down.
