Continued...
It took a moment for Summer to register what was going on.
Everything was happening so fast and it seemed as if the world was spinning before her eyes.
She placed a hand on Grayer's chest to steady herself, feeling his rock hard abs from the thin material of the shirt he wore.
His lips clung to hers, moving slowly with longing and intensity.
She ran her hand through his soft blonde locks, gently opening her eyes to meet a beautiful pair of ocean blue eyes.
Then it hit her.
Her eyes slowly widened and she delivered a rightly aimed slap to his face.
She was supposed to be mad at him.
The aftermath of the event drained her off all the little energy she had left. She suddenly felt limp and her knees buckled up beneath her.
She could feel herself go limp as she fell against the closet door. Her weight drew it open.
She fell into Asher's arms right before she hit the floor.
"Asher?"Her lips seemed to mumble after she realized that she was in familiar arms.
"Fuck! Summer, are you okay?" Asher asked, his voice coming out thinner than he'd expected.
He gently cupped her face in his hand, giving her a gentle shake to get a response.
Then,he noticed her flushed face and smeared lipstick.
It was almost like his blood froze as nothing overcame him but fury.
He looked up to catch Grayer's countenance. He was wiping something off from the side of his lip.
Asher's hands gave way, letting go off Summer in his hands.
St.Williams grabbed her, steadying her in his arms.
Like the flash of lightening, Asher closed the little distance between Grayer and himself. Before anyone could process what was happening,he lunged a jab at Grayer's face.
"Ugh! Fuck!" Grayer muttered in anguish.
Asher roughly pushed him against the closet door. Grayer's head hit it with a loud bang as Asher delivered another punch to his tummy.
"You're supposed to be her best friend, asshole!" Asher thundered.
"I am, shithead!" Grayer retorted.
"Explains why the hell you're taking advantage of her!"Asher screamed.
Chris stepped in to hold a fuming Asher back.
Winter nervously looked on,her eyes tearing up.
"I..." Grayer started.
Asher shrugged Chris off and held Grayer roughly by the scruff of his shirt collar.
The entire room was quiet,as Courtney held Winter back from stepping in.
"You what?" Asher smirked, subtly touching the blood on Grayer's face.
"I'm... I'm inlove with her!" He declared.
Asher let out a dry laugh after Grayer's little confession, you could hear his laughter bounce off the room's walls.
It was like a blow to Winter's face. She visibly paled, suppressing a hiccup.
Asher lifted his hand coated with Grayer's blood to make him look at it.
Then he smeared it on Grayer's shirt,a gentle message to tell him to back off.
"You're fucking high!" Asher deadpanned roughly letting go of Grayer.
He turned to St.Williams and took Summer back in his arms.
"I'll take her home." Asher assured Courtney and St.Williams who looked on.
"I'll help you to the car." Courtney volunteered grabbing Summer's purse.
Winter, unable to bear it anymore ran out of the hall as St.Williams watched her leave.
"You messed up Miller, big time!" He reprimanded, dashing out after Winter.
Naya watched on,her heart heavy as Chris stepped in to attend to Grayer.
Courtney drew the room door open for Asher, clearing the path as Asher carried Summer down the staircase.
Th party was still vibrant, not as before but the kids were jamming to the party music unperturbed.
The made their way through the throng of bodies, Courtney paving way for them.
"It was tough to watch back there..." Courtney started as Asher raised a questioning brow at her.
"You going physical, on Grayer." She clarified.
Asher visibly tensed up as they stepped outside into the cold night air.
"You're saying he didn't deserve it?" He enquired.
"Oh,he did!" Courtney assured, tucking a strand of her ginger hair behind her ear.
"Grayer has been such a jerk to Summer for a while now. It's about time someone stood up for her." She added.
"Right,he had no right taking advantage of her like that." Asher said.
"I understand." Courtney patted his shoulder.Asher visibly relaxed.
Courtney pulled open the passenger's door and Asher carefully reclined the seat, laying Summer on it.
She stirred a little in her sleep, giving the air cute little punches.
Asher and Courtney laughed softly.
"Even in her sleep she's a fighter."Courtney sighed.
"I know." Asher nodded.
"Thank you,for helping out."Asher said, watching Courtney place Summer's purse and shoes she'd kicked off on the backseat.
"Oh it's no bother." She waved it off.
"Don't forget to text her Mum she's sleeping over at my place tonight. Her Mum will be bummed out if you send her back like this." Courtney volunteered as Asher started his car's ignition.
"Will do."Asher nodded waving Courtney bye as Chris caught up with her outside.
It took a while for St. Williams to find Winter.
When he did find her,she was in the backyard, rocking in a hammock staring into the night sky.
"Hey," St.Williams said, settling beside her.
Winter quietly looked up at him,her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
"Hey," she muttered.
"Are you okay?" St.Williams asked, giving her a once over.
Winter shrugged in response.
Dark silence hung in the air.
"The night is beautiful, isn't it?" St.Williams asked, trying to diffuse the tension.
Winter nodded.
There was silence again for a while, until Winter scooted over towards St.Williams.
She drew the gap between them close and leaned in for a kiss.
St.Williams' gaze lingered on her lips before he drew back.
"You don't have to kiss me because you're hurting." He announced.
Winter blinked back a few tears.
"I've got a party to coordinate. I can phone Jack,my chauffeur, if you need a ride back home." St.Williams offered with a salute before he walked back into the hall.
"Drop the beat La Russo!" St.Williams urged the DJ to flip the music back on. He had to dispel the negative energy his friends had brought.
