~(Y/N)~
This guy's tone was way too friendly for a stranger helping out another stranger. (Y/N) has to keep her guard up before anything bad happens. Summoning her polearm, she held it tightly at her side as she followed the cyan man to another part of Sumeru City.
She was eventually lead to a small corner in Zubayr Theater, away from onlookers and any sort of support. The officer was growing more and more suspicious of this person she decided to trust on a whim.
"Are you sure you know where the thief went? Or are you just wasting my time?" she asked with a demanding tone.
"I'm sure he ran this way, my eyes are pretty good... they wouldn't have mislead me." he replied back as he started to look around for any clues about the thief.
He suddenly turned to face her and sprinted towards her direction, as the guy got closer, her reflexes kicked in. Thinking he was going to attack her she held up her weapon in a defensive stance; in reality he punched something physical behind her.
"URGHH!-" a grunt could be heard from behind.
Turning around quickly, (Y/N) noticed a man on the ground in a crumpled position wincing in pain. She had to blink a few times to register what actually just happened, she looked back and forth between the man on the ground and the man that just saved her life.
"You-" she started, "Sorry, I needed to use you as bait so I could draw him out, it was the only way to capture him." the man in the hat finished.
She stared at him dumbfounded but quickly regained her composure and got back into work mode. "Ahem, well thank you for helping me catch this criminal, I'll be sure to compensate you."
The general poked the guy for a bit with her polearm first, confirming that he was knocked out cold she sighed in relief. She had to make sure he wasn't carrying any dangerous items before dragging him to the nearest Eremite group.
Meeting back up with the man that helped her out, "Again, thank you for helping me out."
"Think nothing of it. I was just passing by."
"Anything I can do to compensate you for lending a hand?"
"It's not a problem..-"
"No! I insist! At least let me treat you to some drinks or dinner?"
He paused for a moment, she wondered what was making him hesitate, could it be that he just didn't want to bother with the compensation or was he uncomfortable?
"Oh I apologize for making it seem like I'm forcing you, this must be weird coming from a stranger haha.." she tried to laugh it off and averted her eyes.
(Y/N) was expecting for the man to agree with her and leave the scene, but to her surprise he started laughing. Stunned by his reaction she left her mouth agape, not knowing what to say next.
"You better close your mouth before a bug flies in there." he let out a few more chuckles as he wipes his nonexistent tears away.
"I just wasn't expecting such a reaction out of you... you seemed more of a stoic type of guy."
"You're quite the comedian, anyone ever told you that?"
"You might be the first."
"Haha, I'll take you up on your offer to drink then. I could use something in my system."
"Well if you haven't eaten then lets grab dinner first and then drink. I have a high alcohol tolerance from my days on the battlefield you know?"
"Is that so? We'll see who'll hold out longer."
