~(Y/N)~
(Y/N) sat in front of her general, impatiently waiting for his acknowledgement. You see- the girl was summoned there about.. 30 minutes ago and had been left waiting in that chair for said minutes. It was clear to see that she was fuming in the head.
"What's taking him so long, I got other stuff to do than just sit here."
Finally, the general put down his pen and looked at (Y/N) with a grim expression. She was taken aback by the look, usually the general always made goofy and annoying expressions. What's up with him today?
"(Y/N), I do apologize for the wait. There was an urgent matter that I had to complete, now I just need your answer." The bearded guy flipped the paper to wear she could read it. Sighing heavily as he looked out the window.
"What's the meaning of this?! A marriage proposal?! To who? And why that nation of all the nations?!" (Y/N) was not happy. Who would be happy if they just found out they're about to be engaged to a total stranger?
The general cleared his throat to silence her irritated attitude.
"I understand how you feel, but you must listen to reason, (Y/N). It's for the greater good of our nation. Natlan has been striving with our great military, but I'm afraid of the war that's coming soon."
(Y/N) looked confused at her general, what does he mean by the war coming soon? They were in the nation of Natlan.. the nation of war. Has he become too old to lead this army?
"General Hudson, with all due respect, you are our nation's strongest warrior. A coming war shouldn't bother you."
The general only shook his head, it was clear that was not what he meant.
"Listen (Y/N), in Snezhnaya- The Cryo Archon, her majesty, The Tsaritsa has been collecting all the other Archon's gnosis'. This has caused a panic to our Archon. Lady Murata only wants to protect this nation. And we, as her military, will follow her wishes."
(Y/N) stared shockingly at General Hudson like he was telling her a really bad joke. One that would get you kicked. He was never one with good jokes anyways. The young officer stayed quiet, contemplating whether or not to just run away and start a new life, or face her nation's threat. She was trained to be strong, fierce, and above all loyal. (Y/N) couldn't run away, she simply couldn't. After all the general and the Pyro Archon had provided for her.
"Could I just-.. give me a day to think about please." (Y/N) couldn't meet the general's eyes, knowing she probably caused him shame. He probably thought she would agree right away, but she's hesitating. That's not someone worth being a high ranking officer in the Pyro Archon's military. She stepped back, gave a slight bow, and quickly departed.
Normally, any desperate person would jump at the sound of a proposal. But (Y/N) just couldn't bring her head around the fact that she was going to get engaged to a total stranger! She had a glimpsed at the name of her soon-to-be-fiancée:
Scaramouche, Balladeer, The Sixth of The Eleven Fatui Harbingers.
It was written in a bold handwriting, it'll be hard to miss it. Smack dab in the middle of the paper.
(Y/N)'s eyes widen, the Fatui Harbingers?! Why is she getting engaged to one of them? She sighed and thought back to what Hudson said. All for the greater good of Natlan right?

•The night passed by quickly, and morning came with birds chirping and the sun shining ever so brightly. (Y/N) was already up, preparing to make her way to the general's office once again. This time, to give him her answer. The young officer had a lot to think about the night before, and she came to a conclusion.
The walk to the general's office was long and made (Y/N)'s anxiety rise up. She sighed heavily and reached the grand doors of Hudson's office. Quietly knocking, she received permission to come in. As she opened the door, the room was brightly filled with the sun's light. It shined on anything and everything that it could. That would include General Hudson. (Y/N) took the liberty of sitting down first while the general was staring at his window.
"Ah, (Y/N), right on time. Your answer?"
The girl looked up at her superior with a stern expression. Knowing her answer whole heartedly she replied:
"I'll go through with that engagement for the sake of Lady Murata and Natlan."
General Hudson smiled at her, knowing full well it was a hard decision to make. But an honorable one nonetheless.
"Thank you for your cooperation, we know it's going to be tough to have to wed a total stranger. But I've prepared something nice for you!"
He smiled, it was a warm fatherly smile. Something (Y/N) never got to experienced herself. Her father was gone, he left her and her mother. But the general was sorta like a father figure to her. He made dad jokes sometimes and thinks it's funny. They're not. But (Y/N) laughs just to make him happy. Maybe he'll be the one walking her down the aisle to marry this.. Scaramouche person.
"What is this something nice?" (Y/N) had tilted her head to one side, curious as to what the general had in mind for her.
"You'll be happy to know that I'm letting you go on vacation, this may be the last free time you get to yourself before the Tsaritsa makes you accompany your fiancée everywhere here goes.. but you know it's to also gain information haha!"
She looked at the general in shocked, how did he- someone that only knew how to wield a sword and slay people think of such a smart idea? When she's on vacation, she'll get to learn more about the sixth harbinger. She could even gather intel for Lady Murata to prepare for any upcoming antics on Natlan. (Y/N) must protect her nation at all costs.
"Then my general, I will be on my way. Do call me back if you need something" (Y/N) gave him a smile, and then proceeded to walk out the office. Running to her vacation.
