Storybrooke

My first instinct was to run. I felt myself run through streets of the city as I felt someone on my tracks. I dodged people and cars threatening to run me over. I ran into a park full of trees where I looked down for a second and saw my hands begin to glow blue but dropped them by my sides when I couldn't understand what was happening. I stopped and turned. I saw the cloaked men running. They were coming straight towards me and there was nothing I could do so  I lifted my glowing hands up to them.

"We're here!" I heard someone call out from the top deck.  I didn't know how long I had fallen asleep against the wall of the ship. I sat up and looked up. The sky was slightly cloudy and a light blue. It was clear to me that we were finally out of Neverland. I  got up at the edge of the boat and looked overboard. I saw nothing but trees and a road, but not Storybrooke.

"Hold on! Once we break the barrier it might get a little rocky. But don't worry, I'm the best Captain to ever sail the seas!" called out Hook. At an instant the boat shook. I held on to the railing , afraid to fall overboard. I shut my eyes at the uneasiness until the boat had finally balanced itself again. I finally opened my eyes and heard a gasp come out from my lips as Storybrooke had come into view.

It was beautiful. It was full of homes and small structures. I thought back to the dream and realized there were no tall buildings. It was a small seaside town. There were fisherman far off to the right and centered to the left were many boats, it was a harbor. Further along people walked through the streets as others drove in cars. It looked peaceful.

I looked down as the boat shook once again as it  met the water. Water splashed all around us as it finally set float once again. Hook drove the boat to the harbor where he docked it and let down the anchor. People who were awaiting on land were cheering as Hook had let down the ramp and one by one everyone on the ship went off board.

I walked down the ramp, avoiding all cheers. Everyone looked preoccupied with welcomes that I didn't know where to go until I saw Regina standing away. I made my way beside her and watched her slightly acknowledge me but tighten her jaw at the town seemingly ignoring her. I wanted to ask her why that was but then saw that Wendy had been reunited with her two brothers, John and Michael. I felt a bit guilty that I accused her of lying, but she didn't seem to care about anything now that she had her family. Then I saw  Neal who walked over to them and hugged them all together. Watching them all together I felt a pit of sadness come over me. I had no one to reunite with... I didn't even know if I had a family.

I leaned back on the rails of the dock and stared out to the streets of the harbor, "So why aren't you celebrating?" I figured I should just ask her.

"Well I am the evil queen," she replied sarcastically. "Everyone in this damn town hates me."

I hummed in understanding. "I don't have much of a memory yet so I may not know much, but I know you are not that bad."

Regina rolled her eyes, "You really should get that memory fixed, but yes."

I didn't know how to reply and quite frankly I felt awkward by her dismissal. She seemed to have noticed and sighed.  "I'm sorry."  She crossed her arms and stared out to the others. "It just seems like whatever I do to help people, everyone just continues to see me as evil."

I didn't know much about Regina, but I felt bad for her. "I think you are intimidating, but not evil. Then again who am I to say... none of these people even know who I am."

"At least they can't judge you for your past. You can reinvent yourself. I'm stuck in my past."

I could hear the frustration in her voice. She had a point. At least I could start new, but her? From what it seems like, she must have really done something awful to have the town dislike her. Though that was until..
